A supply closet

As Nora collapsed to the floor from exhaustion, she looked around, realizing just how dark the room she had run into was. She sat for a few minutes, trying to catch her breath, before standing to turn the lights on.

The room she was in was a supply closet, and a large one at that. There were various different tools and cleaning supplies all around her, stacked rather haphazardly across different shelves. She walked further in, looking to see if there was anything she could use to cover herself.

After a brief scan of the room, she only found one that could possibly be useful. In the corner of the room was an empty cardboard box, one that appeared large enough to cover herself almost completely.

She walked over to the box, and picked it up, confirming that it would indeed be enough to shield her. She set to work opening the other side of the box, using a pair of box cutters she found nearby. As she worked, something else caught her eye. Just above one of the shelves was an air vent, one that was only loosely covered by a grate. It appeared to only have one screw left holding it in place, and Nora remembered seeing a screwdriver on one of the shelves. She could possibly use the vents to stealthily climb around the school, and maybe find her way to Amber.

She sat and thought a moment. On one hand, if she used the box she could walk around freely, fully covered. But it would be hard to explain to anyone who saw her, and wasn’t exactly stealthy. On the other hand, using the vents would keep her unseen, but she couldn’t fit the box in with her. Wherever she exited, she would be stuck with what she had, which wasn’t much. Plus, while she could technically end up finding Amber, or even a room with something else to cover her, she couldn’t exactly navigate. She would be crawling blind.
