A stretch of road in the middle of nowhere.

The Lamp descended through the verdant branches of summer trees without making a sound or disturbing the various birds and rodents.

It touched down at the side of a simple dirt road. The road saw just barely enough traffic to not disappear into the undergrowth. Barely. Ruts from carts and trucks were crisscrossed with roots, and the footprints were often never made in the first place, the grass was so thick.

No one could pass through for days or even weeks.

Perfect.

The Lamp could sense there would be an event of great significance soon. An ambush on an not-suspecting-enough traveler who held inside her a great power, no where near the Lamp's, but still significant to the scale of this abandoned world. Any of the individuals involved could be a good candidate.

All it had to do was wait.
