A strange door

Today was a day for pushing boundaries, for exploration.

Maia had spent so much time walking around and listening, and all it had gotten her was a murder staircase, she was ready to take things into her own hands. Even if that required breaking into a few private areas.

Nearly a full day had passed when Maia found herself deep within the Library Basement, behind the shelves of books so obscure that their mere existence would serve as a social deterrent, face to face with a red, rusty door. Stranger even is that the door was unlocked and easily opened. Strangest of all perhaps was that this door led to a staircase descending into a familiar basement.
