Chapter 9 by somerandomasshole somerandomasshole

How does Riku deal with Kairi's problem?

A stopgap solution

For such an ultimately simple problem, Riku was hard-pressed to think of a way to fix it. These were the memories in Kairi's heart he was talking about, and hearts weren't something that could just be "fixed", even if you were a Keyblade Master.

And if he couldn't fix the problem, he'd just have to work around it for now. Temporarily. He hoped.

Leaving Kairi to her own devices for now (something Riku was sure he'd end up regretting), Riku left the hut and walked over to where Sora, Tidus, and Wakka were still gathered.

"Is everything okay, Riku? What was the problem?" Sora asked.

"Yeah... about that... okay, just listen. Kairi's going to walk out of that hut sooner or later, and when she does, we can't draw any attention to what she is or isn't wearing. No comments, no staring, nothing."

"Wait, what?"

"What are you talking about, brudda?'

"It's a long story. To sum things up, Kairi can't remember what she's wearing long enough to dress herself properly. But if we just ignore it, she won't notice, and we can all get on with our lives until we can figure out how to fix this." Riku replied.

Sora looked like he was about to say something in response, but before he could, Kairi stepped out of the hut once again.

What was (or wasn't) Kairi wearing?
