A sticky trap!

The moment you turn the corner, you see a strange appendage emerge from the ceiling. You stop dead in your tracks, just as this thing contracts slightly and spits out a glob of translucent fluid. This mass lands harmlessly on the floor in front of you. If you hadn't stopped when you did, it would have landed right on you!

You stop for a moment, looking up and down at the scene in front of you to assess the situation. The thing on the ceiling is still writhing, the end pointed towards you slightly as if it's sensing you in some way. The glob of fluid on the ground is still a lumpy mass, not having lost its shape since it landed there. You look back up just in time to see the appendage spurt out another glob. You take a step forward and duck, letting the strange projectile fly over your head.

You forget, however, that there was already a glob of fluid directly in front of you, and you've just stepped in it! When you try to move your right foot to give yourself a better stance, your boot refuses to budge! You look back up, slightly panicked, ready to dodge the next projectile when it comes. It comes fast, with much less delay than the first two. You dodge to the side, trying to steer fully clear to give yourself a chance to get unstuck. You dodge this one, but another comes directly after which you can't completely avoid. It lands squarely on the laces of your left boot, anchoring it in place as well.

With both feet stuck, you have to think fast before you get completely immobilized!
