What do you tell Satine?

A slanted truth

Note: In this branch, the elder sister's name variable, which is currently Lara, will be used as a nom de guerre, under which the protagonist will operate surreptitiously. This is because the elder sister does not exist here and thus the variable is unnecessary**.**

Quickly, you skipped forward in time to when the transmitter would activate, at which point it would relay the image of a cloaked version of yourself. But as it activated, your end revealed that Satine was not alone– rather, one of her guards had pressed the button, and she was standing back slightly, all in what looked like a meeting room of some kind. It was an admirable display of caution. Ah well, you supposed you could work with this. With a minor exertion of will, all of Satine's Mandalorian Protectors were and always had been female by pure chance, and all of them to a woman were and always had been undyingly loyal to Satine above all else, considering her to be the guiding voice of the New Mandalorians. If she were to order them to give you a blowjob in the middle of her throne room, they'd obey, and you'd certainly have some fun with that later on. But for now, you began to speak, using your powers to ensure you are speaking Mando'a.

"Duchess Satine Kryze," you began. "It's a pleasure to meet you. Can I trust those around you?"

"You can trust them," she responded, "But it seems you have me at a disadvantage. May I have your name, and why and how you managed to sneak this in?"

"You may call me," you began, pausing time to think of a good name, before unpausing it once more, "Lara. As for my agenda, it is very simple. As I'm sure you're aware, your sister joined a group by the name of **** Watch, which seeks to end your rule of Mandalore and restore the old ways."

Satine tenses slightly at your mention of **** Watch. "And is this a threat on their behalf? Or are you a defector of some sort? If you are, I can guarantee your safety."

"Neither, my dear duchess," you say smiling. It's fun to be so in control of everything. "I am merely an interested party, offering to help you oust them by providing information on their doings."

Satine nods, accepting this as fact. "And in exchange, am I to join the Confederacy of Independent Systems? Or throw my support behind the Republic?"

"Once again, neither. Simply follow your own conscience, and stick to it. Either way, detailed descriptions of most of **** Watch's actions and members are hidden under your bed, and all of it is true to the best of my knowledge. However, I have held out on one thing." With another flex of will, you create the necessary papers under her bed.

"And that is?" she asks, knowing that this is what the price will be attached to. At the same time, she motions for one of her Protectors to bring her the papers.

"The identity of their leader, which I'm willing to tell you right now, in exchange for a promise to merely exile certain **** Watch members whom I would like to recruit, provided they give an oath to never work against you."

A look of realization dawns on Satine's face. "Ah, you want Mandalorian warriors for some purpose, and aiding me is the best way to get them for cheap?"

"That is certainly one benefit, yes, but I would also like for you to remain in power, considering how virtuous you are." You smile, and as you do you, you instill an appreciation for your compliment as well as the slight beginnings of a crush.

Even as her cheeks color, Satine continues to ask questions. "I believe you, but what if they leave you and break that oath?"

"That will not happen," you declare, and bound by your abilities to accept whatever you say as truth, she accepts it.

"So you'd want access to our prisons, then?" she asks, moving on from the fear of betrayal, even as the body language of some of her Protectors looks surprised.

"No, I will contact any that I desire before you are able to get to them. If you get to them first, they were not worthy of being recruited." And besides, you'll simply rewind time if that does happen to a particularly hot or interesting one.

Satine nods. "No more than 5% of the committed members, and obviously not the leaders," she offers.

"One member of the leadership," you counter-offer. "Your sister."

Satine scoffs. "I suppose you can make your offer to her, since I doubt she'll accept."

"Oh, she will," you say, smiling. "But if that's a deal, then the name you're looking for is Pre Vizsla."

A look of shock appears on her face. "But– yes, that does make sense, but–" She turns to her Protectors. "Not a word of this leaves this room, understood?"

"Yes, my lady," they chorus as one, before one, the leader, clears her throat. "But... you're sure? Hasn't he been a valuable ally?" Oh right, you remember, you hadn't ensured they'd believe you automatically. But it didn't matter.

"I'm sure," Satine nods. "We'll have to move subtly, but quickly." Then, she turns to you once more. "I don't suppose you have any evidence for this?"

For a moment, you debate teleporting it somewhere else in the palace, but you decide that you can't really top under her bed. "I'll send it through this device. And I trust if I want to contact you again through this, I can?"

Satine seems torn for a moment, before nodding. "I suppose you've earned that much, Lara. Send me a message saying when you want to meet, and I will attempt to clear my schedule."

"Then for now, that is all," you say, and terminate the call, cutting off the view of the room. However, you immediately activate clairvoyance in order to see Satine's next actions. The Protector she had dispatched earlier had returned with the papers you had sent, while another was awaiting the further evidence you planned to send on the transmitter.

"My lady, should we contact the Republic?" another Protector asks.

"No. As much as I would appreciate the help of the Jedi, they will be swamped by the war that is about to happen, and dealing with this problem seemingly alone will aid in shoring up support for the New Mandalorian way of things. Thus, you must not breathe a word of our seeming new friend, understood?"

"Indeed, my lady," the one you had earlier identified as the leader says. "And what of Pre Vizsla?"

"We will simply keep the whole thing quiet until we're able to confirm the provided information. He's been in place this long– as long as we don't tip him off, we'll be safe."

With that, you let your vision return to your body, and sent further files detailing Pre Vizsla's connections to **** Watch. Now, it was time for the other sister.

How do you deal with recruiting Bo-Katan?
