Will the reunion last a while? What brought Lex and Lexi there? Is it simply an impromptu visit? Or is there more to it? (Answer what you will!)

A simple reunion, oh, by the way...

Chapter 166 by Twisted_Fellow Twisted_Fellow

Their embrace lasts for a couple of minutes. Amaziah leans back on his knees and looks up at them. "It's so good to see you. I, I didn't know when or if you'd be able to come. Grandpa Abidemi told me it might be a while, but that he would find a way to get you here as soon as possible." Before either of them could respond, Abidemi's chuckle disrupts the moment. "I see you've made it here as quickly as possible. It's good to see you both." Lexi hugs Amaziah again. Rubbing her left cheek against his. "I don't care how, but it is so good to finally see you with my own eyes and hold you."

Amaziah warmly giggles. "Me too, mommy." Lex looks at Abidemi. "How did we even get here? Not that I'm complaining." Abidemi flashes his rows of razor sharp pearly whites. "I found a few loopholes and made use of them." His eyes are focused on Lexi and Amaziah. "Just because your bodies aren't ready for parenting him yet. Doesn't mean he doesn't love you and need you in his life." Lex nods slightly. "Fair enough. -looks over at Lexi and Amaziah- Do you think we'll be ready soon?" He notices something intriguing upon looking back at Abidemi.

For a brief moment he saw Abidemi's left eye was gray while the right is prismatic before the aforementioned colors switched eyes. Lexi gently runs her fingers over Amaziah's head and through his hair. The blackened tendril tips of his hair arch toward her fingertips when they brush over them. She softly chuckles. "The tips of your hair are like Gloria's." He nods. "Yeah, I like my hair. It's the main physical feature I have like dad's." Abidemi glances at Lex. "That depends on what you two do in the future. Even for a Goddess like Hecate, the future is a murky thing."

Amaziah begins to introduce some of the friends he has made since his arrival to Lexi. Lexi and Lex take special note of one of the friends that looks like a giant oily-black floating and shifting mouth with at least several dozens of eyes within the large one above the upper jaw. The singular eye is about the same height and width as Lex is tall. The mouth shifting between that of a wolf's muzzle and that of a dragon. The oily-black sheen making the scales and fur, when they are present or even transitioning, a tantalizing display.

Although the base is similar, the style of teeth and the outer layer made for a rather unique spectacle. Lex turns to look at Abidemi. "You know that's just a fancy way of saying you don't know, right?" Abidemi chuckles. The right corner of his lips curl upward. "It sounds that way, but not quite. You'll understand what that truly means given enough time." Lex feels a little smirk come on as he knowingly looks at Abidemi. "Are you telling me I'll understand when I get older? Is this a weird version of the sex talk for Gods and Eldritch beings?"

Abidemi steals a glance at Lex before starting to heartily laugh. "Haha! It's true what they say. You learn something new every day." He gently pats Lex's left shoulder before smirking. "Think of it as you will. But that isn't a bad analogy. Mind if I use it?" Lex is taken aback, having expected something slightly more profound but was flabbergasted by this statement instead. "That's fine, but maybe I should trademark it first." Abidemi shakes his head while silently chuckling. Resulting in a series of subtle shakes and twitches akin to muscle spasms centering around his lower abs and shoulders.

"Ha! That's a good one. -wipes away the tears welling around his eyes- Yeah, be sure to do that." Lex smiles. Feeling a little closer to his father-in-law due to the light nature of their exchange. Who would have thought that something like this was even a possibility? Let alone would happen. He shakes his head. Abidemi gently grips Lex's shoulder. "Since you're here. I think you should spend a little time with your son and this area before heading back. You'll have about a year or so before you'll be forced back into your sleeping bodies."

Lex blinks several times. "A year!?" Abidemi nods slightly. "Yeah, but you can't fall asleep within that time. That'll forcefully end this dream sequence for you both. Regardless of whichever one of you falls asleep first. I did say that I used a few loopholes to get you here. That is the major one. That, and you aren't here physically. You can only use your divinity here but not any of your active skills you've acquired up to this point." Lex's face goes blank as he mulls that over. "Is that why Lexi feels so distant even though she's right there?"

Abidemi nods slightly. "The spiritual lag is quite vast since your vessels are back on Earth, and you're within an illusion barrier here." Lex's jaw drops slightly. "But..." Abidemi smirks. Nudging Lex's jaw back up with the side of his right pointer finger's knuckle. "Yeah, you are spiritually the same being, but that doesn't change the fact that your bodies are your anchor. Think of it kind of like a router with a repeater. It isn't a huge delay, but there still is one." He gestures toward Lexi with his chin. "You'll remember everything that happens here like it is normal, but you won't be able to gain any experience while here."

Lex blinks several times. This felt like a lot more to take in than it should be. "Would that mean that working on our divinity here would be pointless?" Abidemi smirks. "I never said that. -stealing a glance at Lex- I only said that you won't gain any experience while here. I never said you couldn't learn anything. Think of it more like your guardrails and training wheels being forcefully removed." Lex looks down slightly before looking back up. Just in time for Lexi to pull her hand back from the giant gaping maw as it snaps shut in an oddly playful manner.

Lexi and Amaziah chuckle. Amaziah runs off while the floating maw starts to give chase. Although truly bizarre, Lex couldn't help but feel at ease in this place. "Amaziah is really having a wonderful time here, isn't he?" Abidemi quirks a brow. A gentle glare poised at Lex. "You think I would provide a bad environment for your little one? To put him in harms way? Such foolishness. I am treating him like I would any of my own children! Don't forget he is one of my precious grandchildren!" Lex chuckles and shakes his head. "No, that's not it. I just..."

His eyes look back at Amaziah. He could feel his tension fade as he sees just how truly happy Amaziah looks. "You know. It's funny. Earth is supposedly an educated and tolerant place, but I feel like it is nothing but a sham compared to a place as simply wondrous as this." His eyes glance at Abidemi. "Hey. By guardrails and training wheels. Were you referring to the system that gave me these powers?" Abidemi looks at Lex, but doesn't answer for the moment. Will Lex receive a proper answer from Abidemi? Or will his question be avoided all together? Will Lex and Lexi make use of there time here to practice on their divinity? Or will they just spend some time with their son before heading back home?

Would you like the giant maw to become a semi perminate character?
