A short jabbing attack aimed at Balthor's hand!

You have only mere moments to react and you decide that you must act equally quickly as you shorten your grip on your hammer to just below the head and you strike out with a jabbing punch towards the spear coming down towards you. No, not towards the spear, but towards the hand gripping that spear near the middle of the weapon's haft. You saw it there, lightly furred human-like fingers curled around the wide wooden weapon, and knew that that would be your target. For what use is a weapon if one cannot hold it?

So you jab your fist out quickly with the hammer acting more like a heavy sap than a long-handled blunt weapon. You lose out on much of the power you could put behind the swing by using it like that, but you know that is fine. Because it is not your strength that will cause the most damage in this moment. No, it is Balthor's own strength that will be his undoing.

For, as the heavy head of the hammer impacts with the knuckles of Balthor's hand, it is with the combined strength of your arms and Balthor's own swing. His own momentum is reflected back at him as the solid black steel of the hammer's head slams home and you can hear the crack of the small bones in his fingers breaking to pieces. You see his fingers spasm as pain lances through them, releasing the spear and causing it to careen off target to thud solidly into the ground next to you instead of into your body. The stone spearhead embeds itself into the dirt deeply and you take a moment to realize how fortunate you are that such a strike had not impacted with your body, lest that spearhead be embedded in your body instead.

Balthor howls in agony as he brings his broken hand up towards himself, the fingers bent at awkward angles as your blow had forcefully rearranged their bone structure. You do not give the Beast-kin time to nurse his wounds, however, as you move to capitalize on his unguarded moment by again gripping the hammer lower on the handle and swinging it with all your strength into the side of Balthor's right leg. The hammer slams into the side of his knee and, though the taut muscle there keeps the bone from breaking, you can see his knee buckle under the impact. That knocks him off balance and he goes tumbling down, falling flat onto his back with solid thud that knocks his breath out of him.

Again, you move before he can recover, jumping up and then coming down onto his midsection with both booted feet slamming heavily into his diaphragm. Balthor gasps out as you keep him from being able to catch his breath with that blow, his unbroken hand now feebly grasping at his own throat as though he could somehow **** it open to allow air back into it. Again, you do not give him a chance to do anything like that as, with a roar that would rival any Beast-kin, you raise your hammer high into the air above you and then swing it down with all your strength.

The heavy head of the hammer hurtles down towards Balthor's head and the beast-kin can only shut his eyes tight as he braces for the lethal impact.
