A selkie’s song

You headed out the next day, cheering orcs waving as you ride out. You had a pleasant time here, but you could feel the urgency of your mission pressing at you. The continued nervousness of Elys didn’t help either.

Therefore, you headed out, knowing that it was only a few days journey to the capital of Mermouthia. Along the way, you pass a few villages, and you notice that you’re starting to be recognized as you travel. It was only a matter of time, but you’re surprised by how fast word has traveled.

As the sun begins to drop, you come across a wide, calm river. You decide that this is a good place to stop for the night, and almost immediately Yura and Sadie head to the river, strip, and jump in the water. Yura transforms, and lets out a sigh as she swims for the first time in weeks.

You help the other girls set up camp, then decide to have a swim as well. You strip down, getting a few cheers and whistles from Maya and Kali, and head down to the river. Sadie immediately splashed you, laughing and running through the shallower water at rivers edge. You laugh and splash her back, and enjoy the sight of her blue skin glistening as she laughingly plays in the water.

After a time, you swim over to Yura, who smiles as you approach. “It is good to swim again. I miss the water.”

You smile and gently touch her round cheek, and she leans into your touch. You swim for a while, and Sadie announces she going back to the camp. You look over and you see her grinning over her shoulder as she walks, making sure your eyes are on her blue backside as she walks away, swaying her hips.

While you’re watching, Yura swims over and takes your hand. She looks at you with her huge purple eyes and urges you towards the shore. As you reach the shallow edge of the river, you start to stand, but Yura shakes her head, guiding you to sit in the water against a rocky outcrop. Once seated, she pulls herself into your lap. You put your arms around her, hugging her soft, curvy body against yours.

Yura smiles and closes her eyes, resting her head on your chest. Softly and hesitantly, she begins singing.

Yura hugs you a little tighter. Her voice shakes slightly, though she has a lovely singing voice.

The sun is setting in front of you, bathing the water in reddish light. Yura shivers slightly, as she sings in barely a whisper.

And this is why my eyes are closed/It's just as well for all I've seen/And so it goes, and so it goes/And you’re the only one who knows...

Yura looks up at you as she finishes singing. “I had never been happy before I met you, Josh. I know I do not stand out like the others. Thank you for being here. I love you...please do not forget about little Yura...”

In answer, you simply pull her into a kiss. It was the right answer, and she responds with passion. As the light fades, your wet bodies entwine.
