How do you deal with this turn of events?
A rousing speech
So the Orc has finally struck back, you think as you quietly contemplate your next move. You had hoped to harry Gurmukh's band for at least a little while longer before moving to the next phase, but that has been taken out of your hands now - the slavers' leader now clearly views you as a threat, and has shown himself to be cunning enough to stab at you through a proxy. If you hadn't captured the amazon, if you had simply had her killed or enslaved, you might never have known he was behind this attempt on your life.
Now, with half of the tribe staring at you, waiting for your decision on how to deal with the young woman, you've been placed in a delicate position. The usual punishment for an **** attempt would be ****, but the amazon wasn't acting of her own free will and she did attempt to kill as few of your warriors as she could. On the other hand, the lives of three are solely on her hands, and that demands retribution.
This could be advantageous for you though. If you could turn this woman, turn her to your side, you could have a valuble source of information about the interior of the campgrounds and a possible double-agent. But this would require a little maneuvering within the tribe politics.
Not wanting to get ahead of yourself, you look down at the defeated woman and ask "What is your name?"
"...It's Reeza." The woman replied in a defeated tone.
Good, you think, relaxing a little. A submissive prisoner will be much easier to use as leverage than a defiant one. If you can get the tribe to look at her in a sympathetic light, then they won't be as likely to be howling for her blood. From there, he might be able to flip her loyalties, but this would require a few careful words and no small amount of luck.
Pacing around the amazon, you place your hands on your hips as speak loudly, so that your entire warband can hear you. "Reeza. If you could speak up. If you could tell to my comrades exactly what you told me just a moment ago. About Gurmukh."
You emphsize the Orc's name, so that everyone's attention is perked up.With more than a hundred pairs of eyes turned to her now, Reeza looks even more wretched, but she straightens up her back and starts talking.
"I belong to an Amazon tribe! We are nomads, who migrated here from the West! The orcish slaver, Gurmukh, and his band attacked and enslaved us! He told me that he hates your chieftain, Vehumet! You've been attacking his men for too long, and he's furious! Gurmukh commanded me to kill him, to come in the dark of night and **** him, or he would **** my family and my lover! I had ****! I had to try and kill your leader!"
Confused whispers rose up from the crowd and grew into a ruckus. You raise your hands for silence. When the noise subsides you project your voice as loudly and as clearly as you can, speaking carefully and picking your words with precision.
"So do you see?! Our attacks, our brave warriors have been too much for them! This is what that slaver filth has resorted to: This Gurmukh has sent assassins, rather than face us in battle! He fears us! The Orcs fear us!" A cheer rises up through your forces, and you need to raise your hand again for silence. "The time is now my brothers and sisters! The time is now to strike down and drive out those Orcs! The time is now, to claim the Steppes for Goblinkind alone! To rescue our enslaved kin! To cry out to the Gods once and for all that THIS. IS. OUR. LAND!!"
There is an exultant roar from your tribe, rippling outwards from the ones in the front all the way to the back and echoing over the grassy plains. It was a resonance of fate and belief that nothing could stop their cause and that they were truly destined for greatness.
