A rival farmhand

Vera worked for one of the bigger farms in the area. There was a bit of a feud between her benefactor Mr. Lyons and Ms. Delilah. But, for the most part, she had a friendly enough relationship with Jules.

She eyed him up and down, glancing down at the swinging show quite a bit. She'd never admit to it, but Vera found Jules to be cute.

Jules looked at her, confused. "Why are you looking at me like that? Something on my face?" He joked.

Vera simply blinked. He wasn't covering himself. He didn't make reference to it. Did... he not know??? Oh, this was perfect.

She shook her head. "Nope. Just kinda tired. Long day..." She lied, trying so hard not to keep glancing down.

"It just started, but I agree. Maybe it's the air today. Well, I'm heading into town. See you around?" Jules asked with a smile.

"Yeah, see ya- actually, I just realized that I forgot to pick up something. So... I can come with you. If you don't mind the company." She said with a shy smile.

Jules grinned. Was she flirting with him? He always thought they had chemistry, but she's never been this red and nice before. "I don't mind. Come along."
