A rift in space and time

Lauren lay in bed, peacefully slumbering. She was awoken to a crackle of energy and flash of light. She opened her eyes. To her utter amazement a rift seemed to be appearing in her room! A spiral of purple energy formed out of nowhere. Lauren squealed in terror as wind began sucking everything in her room towards the rift. Lauren felt her fear growing as she felt the rift pulling her towards it as well. The blankets ripped off her bed. Lauren went prone, holding the bedpost, but the pull was too strong. She was pulled off the bed, hanging by her grip on the bed post for a moment before her strength failed and Lauren flew into the rift!

As soon as Lauren was through the rift closed. All was silent in and still in her darkened bedroom. Then we see Lauren, flying through a vortex of unearthly energy, before suddenly emerging, falling onto the grass floor of a forest in a sprawl. IN her room it had been night, but now it was bright, blaring daylight. Lauren lay, confused and utterly discombobulated. Where on earth was she?! Was she even on earth?!
