A quick errand before the meeting

An idea that has been growing in the back of your mind since last night pushes itself forward, and you smile coldly, thinking through the steps you have to take. With a last grin at Noelle and a reminder to herself that she could prove profitable, you leave the building, heading for your cottage.

You pass a few students as you walk, many of them greeting you with trilling voices, and almost all of them watching you. It's as though they've never seen a man before, you smile to yourself, wondering how long it will take for the novelty of male teachers to wear off, or even if it will.

At your cottage you go to your bedroom, noting that the room has been tidied and the bed made. Obviously the housemaid that works weekdays has been and gone. You take your case and put it on the bed, unlocking it and taking out what you need before locking it again.

Putting on a pair of latex gloves, you pick up the items and wipe them clean of prints. Probably not necessary you think, but you haven't stayed out of prison being careless. Taking them downstairs you lay them out on the dining room table.

First you use a red felt pen to print a note on a single sheet of paper.

'IF YOU GO DOWN IN THE WOODS TODAY YOU BETTER NOT GO ALONE. IT'S LOVELY DOWN IN THE WOODS TODAY, BUT BETTER TO STAY AT HOME.'

Smiling, you take one of the Chanel perfume bottles you purchased and break it, taking care that the logo is untouched. You put both items in a paper bag, and put that in your briefcase before heading back to the main building and the orientation meeting.
