Chapter 11 by AltUAuthor AltUAuthor

What's next?

A possible solution?

"So, PG, If ya don't mind me askin'..." Rogue began, as she and PG once again walked through the mutant's mindscape. "Mind tellin' me a little more about yourself? I mean, I don't wanna cross any professional boundaries or nothin'..."

"Don't worry about it, Rogue. I consider our relationship to be a personal one, not a professional one," PG told her. "Officially, this is a favor to you, Xavier, and the X-Men, not a business deal."

"I see. Well, I guess Charlie's gonna appreciate you not billin' him for these sessions," Rogue joked.

"I guess so," PG said with a chuckle. "Still, a favor from Professor Xavier is pretty valuable in and of itself... not that any of that matters. I'm helping you because I want to help you."

"I appreciate that, PG. I really do. But we both know now that there's more at stake here than me bein' able to touch anyone," Rogue pointed out.

"Even if there wasn't, I still want to see this through," PG smiled. "Now, as for me, well... I've got a pretty complicated past. I come from a universe parallel to this one, a very close parallel, with a few key differences in history. My given name is Kara Zor-L, and I'm from Earth by way of Krypton... just not this one."

"Wait... I knew you were Kryptonian, but you ain't from this universe?" Rogue asked incredulously. "How'd you get here?"

"It's a long story," PG replied, "but I can try to give you the short version. My Earth -- which your scientists here call 'Earth-2' -- became uninhabitable, so we built fleets of massive spaceships to evacuate as many people as we could. Somehow I was separated from those fleets, and, well, I woke up here..."

"Damn..." Rogue said, stunned. "How'd ya wind up here on your own?"

"I wish I knew," PG answered. "I was asleep in a stasis pod, so I have no idea how I was separated from my fleet. All I know is that the pod was damaged, and I was asleep for about 20 years, until your world's Justice League found me. I got up, dusted myself off, and started a new life here, and that's pretty much all there is to say about it."

Rogue gave PG a sad smile. "I can't imagine how hard it must've been to leave everything you knew behind... an' have to start a new life in a different universe. What was your old life like?"

"Prosperous," PG replied with a shrug. "I used to use the alias Karen Starr, and I built myself a very successful tech company under that name. And, much like I do here, I moonlighted as Power Girl."

"Wow," Rogue remarked, impressed. "I mean, I knew you were a smart cookie -- but that kinda success ain't easy to come by. Do ya miss it?"

PG nodded. "I do. I was able to help a lot of people in a lot of different ways... and even if I wasn't able to save my world, I was able to use my resources to help others evacuate."

"Well, I'm glad ya landed here," Rogue told the Kryptonian. "I'm not sure I'd be able to face any of this without ya..."

Rogue instinctively grabbed PG's hand, and after a few moments, she looked down to see that she wasn't wearing her gloves. "Oh, shit!" she swore, pulling her hand away. "I'm so sorry. I coulda killed you..."

"No, Rogue, I'm fine," PG reassured the X-Woman, as a sudden epiphany hit her. "...Your touch can't hurt me here. Your touch can't hurt me here... Rogue, I think I know how you can fully control your powers!"

Rogue eyes widened. "Really?! How? What's your plan, Doc?"

"You want me to do WHAT?!" Rogue shouted in surprise at PG.

"I want you to have sex with me, here in your mindscape," PG repeated, "Your inability to control your powers is tied to your buried desires, I'm sure of it. If we can fully unleash them here, we might break down all those subconscious barriers, all that anxiety... and that might allow you to finally control your mutant abilities in the real world."

"That's a mighty big ask, don't ya think?" Rogue asked, a little nervously.

"I know," PG admitted. "But it's all up to you. If you don't want to do this, I'd never make you... and it wouldn't help anyway. But from what I've seen, I don't think that that's the case."

Rogue rubbed the back of her neck as she thought about PG's proposition. "Y'already know how I feel. I mean, you've seen everythin' already. I definitely want this, but... do you? I mean, if you ain't comfortable knockin' boots, then..."

PG once again grabbed Rogue's hand, looking deep into the Southern belle's eyes. "Trust me, Rogue... you're not the only one fantasizing about the two of us," she assured the other woman.

"In that case..." Rogue blushed as she stared at the Kryptonian beauty, trying to collect her thoughts. "Ya'll can go ahead and kiss me..."
