A policeman comes and gives her a dress

Just then, a police officer walked up to the couple, coming up behind a couple of feet behind Mackenzie.

"Excuse me, Miss Fairbairn," he said, startling Mackenzie and making her turn backward.

"Uhhh... hi officer..." she stammered, surprised the cop knew her name.

"I thought you were naked in the park because of your... accidents, but I overheard you talking to your boyfriend about being an unlicensed nudist."

"Well, officer..." the redhead tried to find the smoothest way to plead the fifth.

"As your boyfriend here just told you, we don't allow that around here. Now, I would have given you a fine or taken you to jail, but today's your lucky day!" the police officer reached into his duffel bag, which Mackenzie just noticed. Why would a cop have a duffel bag?

"I'm on lost-and-found duty today," he said, pulling out a sundress from the bag, "and was clearing out items older than 30 days old," he handed the dress to Mackenzie, who noticed that it had holes in it and then remembered an incident from last month. Mackenzie was wearing a sundress and underwear when she was climbing a tree to save a cat. The cat jumped off the branch just as she was reaching out for it, and to make matters worse she fell off the branch and snagged all her clothes off in the process. After thirty minutes of jumping up and trying to get her clothes back, she gave up and ran away when she saw people starting to take pictures.

She thought she would never see those clothes again, but the cop had given her that very same tattered dress.

"No underwear or shoes, I'm afraid," the cop dashed Mackenzie's hopes, "but you put this on and don't get naked again until you have a license, you hear me?"

"Thank you, officer," she took the dress and put it on, "I'll try."

"Alright! You two lovebirds have a great day," the officer turned and walked away as Matthew laughed at the scene.
