A place to stay and an unwelcome guest

Because of your job, you needed to move to town a bit earlier than you had planned. It was a bit of a difficult adjustment as you and Tegan moved from a nice apartment... into your childhood home. Of course, it wasn't bad, but it was weird. Still, it was better than motels or hotels. You would just be here until you guys found a place to stay and Sophie had been more than happy to let you guys stay there.

Of course, the house was big enough for all of you, and she even said she'd be okay if you moved in fully. However, you and Tegan had only been married for two years and still wanted your newlywed time. So this needed to be temporary.

There was... one other reason this needed to be temporary. Your mother had agreed to take in a guest while he was getting back on his feet. You didn't know who it was, but you didn't want to share the house with another random guy.

Of course, it wasn't another random guy.

It was Jake. You nearly passed out when he arrived. "I didn't want to tell you because I know you had a lot of bad experiences in school with him, but I think everyone deserves a second chance!" She said, pleading eyes looking up at you.

As it turned out, Sophie and Jake's mom had gotten close over the years. But she was out of state now and Jake needed a place to stay for a while, so your mom offered her place.

It'd been a while, though. People change, right?
