A perfectly normal date where nothing weird happens

You are equal times nervous and excited, you and Jane are going on your first real date, Jane is going to pay for the date (even if that's something she probably doesn't have to do anymore), but you planned it, you brainstormed something hopefully nice and even went and got some new clothes, hopefully she will like it.

You both walk inside and what meets you is just suffocating heat and grease matted air, it´s clear that there was some kind of small fire that broke out and they are still venting out the place.

You are kind of nervous, because this is not a good start to the date, you look at Jane who looks unimpressed around the diner and says:

"I haven't been here in years."

"She probably doesn't go to cheap places like this now." you think.

Jane looks at you and sees your obvious nervousness and asks:

"Are you sure I can't give this evening my special touch?"

"No, the point is that you learn to relax and let things just be, trying not to make everything perfect." you reply.

"It's just that this is our first 'real' date you know and I want it to be special." Jane replies.

You look up at Jane, who's even taller now in her black heels, having trouble staring her in the eye on account of her form hugging blue dress showing off all her curves and huge cleavage, and say:

"It's already special to me, just being on a date with you, so promise me again, no funny business!"

But Jane isn't looking at you, just scanning the diner, with a look you have seen before causing you to, squeeze her hand and say:

"Jane!"

Jane frowns slightly, looks down at you, now with a sly smile and says:

"... Fine, I will just go with the flow... For this date."

"Good." you say.

"Great even." Jane says giving you a teasing smile.

"... You look nice, I like your dress." you say, causing Jane to drop her slightly annoying grin as she's flabbergasted for a second and her face gets a little redder. She collects herself and says:

"Of course you do... I mean, thank you."

Which causes you to give her an annoying smirk.

One of the reasons why you choose this place was because when you were friends she always badgered you to go and you liked the burgers there, fat and sloppy with the right amount of that cheap spice. You and Jane had found this place when you got lost driving, right outside of the city, It was then full of what you think were loggers and it had such a homely feel, you remember how excited you were when you found it, when you and Jane ordered that first sloppy burger, it tasted so good on account of your hunger, you told Jane:

"Man, we need to go here more often!"

She just smiled at you as she picked at her burger while you two ate and blathered away for almost two hours, until it was just you two, various people had gone back to work and it was mostly quite, expect for you and Jane, it was pretty great, after that she couldn't get enough of the place.

But the eccentric thing was that Jane always ended up ordering the cheese sandwich, which was kind of adorable in a way, but every time you and her went she just beamed with joy and became such a chatter box.

So by going there you hoped capturing that old magic feeling and also you haven't been there in a long time and could do with a good burger.

You lead Jane to your old booth, but when you get there you see a pretty large guy eating at the table and it looks like he's a long way from finishing, you look at Jane, who looks kind of annoyed and you say:

"Ehrm, here!"

And lead her to another empty one, next to the other one, you sit on each side facing each other and you take her arm in both of yours, plopping your elbows on the table as you look at her and say:

"Jane, you remember this place right, the best burgers in town, I can´t wait to taste them and..."

Jane interrupts you and says:

"John your elbow is right in some sauce!"

She reaches over and gets a napkin from the dispenser and hands it to you, while you lift your right hand up and notice the red stain. You take the napkin and start cursing silently as you clean yourself up, you look towards Jane, realize what she did (or rather didn't do) and say:

"Thank you for not, you know, start using your powers for tonight."

"Yeah, yeah, I made a promise and I'm going to keep it." Jane says as she waves her arm at you dismissively.

You get most of the sauce out, and notice that the table is frankly kind of dirty, you ignore it and take Jane's arm in your hands and say:

"As I was saying..."

"Hya! Let me get that for you!" Says a waitress, interrupting you, she takes out a wet rag and swipes it over your table, leaving it cleaner but a lot more wetter. She puts the rag in her back pocket takes out some papers and a pen and asks:

"My name is Daisy! I will be your waitress for the evening. Are you two ready to order?"

You look at the woman, who's a little older than you and Jane, she looks like a sweetheart, dressed in an old style waitress outfit. She looks at you, with what you can only describe as impatiences, causing you to slightly freeze being in the spotlight like this, you realize you are staring at her and say:

"Wait, we haven´t gotten any menus."

"There aren't any." She replies cheerily.

"Oh, then how..." You say before she instantly starts interrupting you as she lists off with her fingers:

"We have a cheeseburgers, frozen stakes, sandwiches, pies..."

Then she lists up a few more dishes, when she finally finishes you just ask for a cheese burger with no pickles and Jane orders the grilled cheese sandwich making you think "Alright!" as you look at her frankly a little too excited. Jane just looks at you with a raised eyebrow.

You look at her and say:

"... So I think."

"MOM! ONE NUMBER 3 AND ONE NUMBER 7!!!" yells the waitress at the top of her lungs making you startled. She then walks away, leaving you kind of stunned and Jane kind of smirking.

"Finally some peace and quite, to talk." you think.

Just as you are about to start chatting with Jane the large man sitting one booth over, takes out his phone, puts it on speaker, makes a video call and starts talking loudly, while he´s still eating.

You just sit there kind of stunned getting no quite break to talk to Jane, the man is arguing with someone over the phone, it sounds like his girlfriend. And it goes on and on, all the way until the food arrives.

"Well the atmosphere is kind of bad, but at least the food is good." you think and take a bite out of the burger ... and it tastes bland and bad! And on top of that there are pickles on it, you have no trouble eating them, but you don't like them on your burger, you discretely pick them off, laying them to the side to eat later as you start eating the bland burger.

Jane meanwhile eats her sandwich almost in one bite, while you chew down on the disappointment in your mouth. While you are in mid chew the waitress arrives holding a large closed heavy glass pitcher with water and asks how's the food, you give an awkward thumbs up and Jane says it's fine. The waitress looks at your glasses and says:

"Let me get that."

She lifts up the large heavy pitcher with a shaking hand and as she pours, the lid falls off causing the whole thing to flood your table, causing water to spill over the sides, all over you and Jane.

"Ah jeez! I'm sorry!" the waitress says.

You awkwardly stand up but Jane just sits, you can see something dark in her eye's as she just sits kind of frozen, you gulp a little as the waitress uses her rag to clean up the water and just causing it to end up on your benches. Daisy realizes that her rag isn't going to do the job and leaves to get something better, you look at Jane and say:

"... Alright! I'm calling it, lets just get to the movie!"

Jane's expression turns from kind of frozen into a weird smile as she says:

"Good"

Jane leaves some money for the food and both of you walk outside, Jane then says:

"This place is the same shit-hole as before, I really should do something about it."

You look at Jane confused and say:

"Wait, shit-hole? I thought you loved this place?"

"Please, this mess! The first time we went here, I think I got food poisoning from it, the only safe thing to eat here were the sandwiches!" She says.

"Then why did you drag me all those times?" you ask.

"Well, because you liked going here, because you told me you liked it so much! And I just liked spending time with you." Jane says.

"... Well, I don't like it anymore, can we just go to the movies now?" you ask.

"Yeah." Jane says as she snaps her fingers.

You go to the movie, but that also turns into kind of a dud, as frankly it's kind of a bad movie, you look nervously at Jane and it's obvious she's bored. It doesn't help that a few rows back there are a few girls equally bored and blathering away, which was one of Jane's pet peeves, especially because she was so shy so she just took it.

So to you she, just looks bored and slightly pissed off, but to her credit she doesn't do anything, just sits there and when she sees you looking at her, she just smiles warmly, but gives the sitting girls an annoyed side glance. So you cut your losses, lean up to her, which causes her to lean into you and you ask her:

"Are you feeling this movie?"

"Honestly, No." Jane replies.

"Me neither, wanna leave?" You ask.

"Thought you would never ask." Jane says.

"Can you take us to my car?" you ask her, causing Jane to snap her fingers.

"Time to bring out the ace in the hole!" you think as you appear next to your car and you both get inside.

You drive her for a few minutes outside of town, just as the sun starts going down, you park at a top of a lookout, overlooking the city, which now just looks kind of mismatched and disjointed after Jane remodeled it.

You look at Jane and say:

"This is the perfect spot to watch the sun go down and we might even see the moon through the cloudy sky!"

You reach smoothly back behind her seat and take out a big blanked and a thermos with hot cocoa, Jane looks at you amazed and you feel like finally something is going right. You wrap the blanked around the both of you and reach again behind her seat and get a few flowers and give them to her, you then pour you and her some cocoa, you then hold hands watching the sun go down, but due to the cloudy weather, the moon is not visible, much to your dismay.

Jane leans her head on your shoulder and you lean against her, the sun goes down and you both sit there quietly leaning against each other for a few minutes, just silently enjoying each other's company.

You feel Jane turn her head towards you. You look at her and smile, lean in and kiss her slowly and gently, she's clearly letting you take the lead because there isn't that much lust in the kiss, just gentle warm love.

You break the kiss and you both just smile at each other goofily, you both then rearrange yourself in your seats and you grab the side of her head and you both start making out. Gently and slowly you kiss each other, Jane strokes your hair as she slowly moves more towards you, just stopping by the middle console.

You can feel her smile as you make out, you never realized just how much you wanted this, wanted her, so you reach towards her chest under the blanket, you want to kick it into high gear, you can sense the heat off her body, against your hand, you are about to gently stroke her chest and ...

KNOCK KNOCK!!

"HEY, YOU CAN'T BE HERE! THIS IS PRIVATE PROPERTY!" yells a man outside your side of the car, startling both of you, ruining the mood. He glares at you angrily and signals you to crank down the window.

You put down your window, looking at a security guard as he shines a flashlight right into both of your faces and says:

"You can't be here, didn't you see the signs, private property!"

"Eh, sorry, I... " you reply confused.

The guard sighs when he sees your confused face and says:

"Look it's alright, you aren't the first one to not notice, just leave and I wont have to call the police, alright. I know this was a popular make out spot in the past, but my boss is kind of a dick, so just leave and I won't report it, alright?"

You say sorry and as you start cranking up the window, you hear a voice on the guards radio, which kind of sounds illegible but female, the guard presses the button and says:

"Yeah honey, I will be home for dinner, just made the last rounds."

Illegible noise

"Yeah, just some adults acting like teenagers again, nothing major."

You drive off, and you look at Jane and she just looks stoic, but it´s obvious she is pissed, she gives you one look and snaps her fingers and suddenly you are standing outside your home.
