Who are the resistance's hero party?
A party lead by a demon?
The resistence was brave and fierce but they were having what seemed to be a hopeless war, the furless demons fortresses were resguarded by glowing magical shields so powerful that even their most powerful offensive spells could do nothing to penetrate, they were wearing armors that couldn't be damaged by even the sharpest of swords or the most precise arrows, and their own fortresses, even while blessed with magical defenses that made them unnafected by even the mightiest of attack spells were easily reduced to rubble by their oddly shaped magic wands that seemed only capable of death and destruction.
All of furkind was quickly losing hope, even those in the resistence were considering if surrender would be the most wise decision but even them had their doubts in doing that considering what they have seen happens to the furkin that got captured by the demons, they weren't just enslaved they were completly corrupted, their previous personality, wants and needs were all replaced with pleasing and serving the demons, their expression was always one of a forced, uncanny and exagerated smile which was horrifying to look like, some would prefer to just die before ending up as one of those mindless drones that the demons want to convert them into.
Just as the resistance considered that their best hope might be to run and hide from the demon rather than insist on fighting an invincible enemy, a light of hope appeared from the most unexpected place: one of the demons themselves.
One day, something that had never happened before occured, a group of captured furkin managed to escape from the foothold, it was a miracle, before this they had assumed that anyone captured was either dead or corrupted for sure but here they finally had something they could call a victory as friends, lovers and family were getting reunited, and the craziest part is that according to the returning resistence members the one they had to thank for one is one of the demons themselves.
After them came one of the demons: a female with pale skin and no fur except for a short black mane. She came in no armor, only a white robe; they almost attacked her until the returned furkin explained she was the one who liberated them. This surprised them all, as they never expected that a demon from the skies could be so kind; they had assumed they were all pure evil.
The demon then kept surprising them as she bowed to them and begged for their forgiveness for the damage her kind had done to theirs. The demons had always acted extremely arrogant before demanding to be worshiped as if they were the gods themselves, and here one of them was bending the knee for them; they had never seen that they could be humble, especially this much.
Bit by bit, they got to trust her and not hold what the other demons had done against her, as she seemed different from the rest, obviously those that she rescued and her loved ones where the quickest to trust and forgive her.
Afterwards, she introduced herself; she was Maria Liddel, and also explained to the resistance more about her kind as well as she could. She explained that her species were not demons; they were called humans, and they came from another world, far beyond their own. This became the first time these more primitive people were informed that the universe was filled with countless worlds, all scattered in the sky alongside the stars. That was crazy to them, but after what they had witnessed from the humans, they were willing to believe her no matter how incredible her tale was. She also explained that their armor, weapons, and power don't come from any kind of magic but from something she called technology, which explained why it was so different from magic, since it wasn't magic at all, but that didn't allow them to understand very well what it was and how it worked.
They still didn't understand what it was, just that it was a different source of power that humans created back in their world and, according to Maria, is what has allowed them to travel to other worlds to conquer and oppress, she told them that the toward in the middle of the darkhold was for a device called an elevator that connects them to their flying ship up in the sky which serves as a portal for the humans to bring in more resources and soldiers, if they managed to sneak into their ship and destroy their portal they would become unable to gain more forces which would give the furkin a chance to fight back.
But such a dangerous mission would require a group of brave and daring warrior to sneak into their ship and destroy their portal.
