A pack for us (Arya III)

A pack for us

Arya III

Hello Jon.

Arya looked down at her feet suddenly filled with girlish fear. She hasn't seen her brother in years. Would he even remember her? Would he even care she was back?

Once they had been inseparable the odds ones out in the Stark pack. But now? Jon was a prince. A brother of the Nights Watch.

And she? Arya was nobody.

Jon rose to his feet staring at her in complete silence. His face gave away nothing except Shock. The next thing she felt was Jon's warm arms wrapped around her.

His body held her tight and close. Instantly she was a child again she felt so small and safe in his arms.

She hadn't felt like this since before they took there father's head. Jon was crying and holding her impossibly tight his arms clasped tightly behind her back. His chin resting on her head. His long coat covered them both warming her body after such a cold long ride.

Finally she was home.

Her face was wet. Tears streaming down her cheeks in an unrelenting waterfall. Each tear froze solid as it hit the ground creating a hail storm from her eyes.

Jon suddenly moved and showered her face and head in warm kisses planting them on her forehead and cheeks. His lips cold and firm but soft and sincere. His face was as red as hers tears covered him, frozen to his face.

They must have stood there forever. And if they did Arya would be happy. She imagined a thousand years from now adventurers finding them frozen in icy tears, there smiles and tears of joy frozen forever.

He placed a final kiss on her nose, her face flushed more than she thought was possible. She grew redder than Ghosts eyes. Ghost ran around Jon and her yipping excitedly, waging his white tail.

I've missed you sister. Jon whispered.

There eyes finally met. The blue pools that made up his eyes were wide and blood shot from his tears but just as clear and kind as she remembered them. But with what looked like a thousand years of stress on them. He reminded her of father. His black beard caked with snow. Or was it turning white?
