Chapter 7 by amalgam amalgam

What is happening?

A of the mind

Some part of me doesn’t give up, **** to find some way to move, to cry for help, to get a hold of some synapse –somewhere- in my body to tell my legs to knee this bastard in the groin!

The other part of me doesn’t seem to be there anymore. It’s like that feeling you get laying late in bed on Sunday morning, drifting in and out of sleep, groggy and incoherent, blissfully half-conscious. I’m kind of happy to drift away in this moment now, until I hear Jonathan’s voice.

“Pay attention, Alexis.”

I’m instantly on full alert, rudely jerked away from my dreamy escape from this nightmare. I look straight into the mirror, seeing myself, captor and accomplice looking back, but something is definitely strange about this portrait. My eyes…they seem…reddish…glowing, even. And just below, resting on my chest I see the ruby that Jonathan had me wear, also glowing eerily. It feels very hot against my skin, and somehow spreads that warmth over the expanse of my body. This is it. This is what caused it. The necklace made me hot and numb, and froze me and made me mute. Is it laced with something? A poison? Am I in the midst of an allergic reaction? But again he speaks, and suddenly I don’t remember what I was thinking about just now.

“Look carefully, Alexis, in the mirror,” he says, then abruptly changes his mind. He turns us both toward his accomplice instead and commands, “Take off your blouse, Rose.”

Rose doesn’t hesitate for a second to do Jonathan’s bidding. “Yes, Jonathan,” she replies, and pulls her pink and white-striped top from her coffee-colored body. I see her appropriately pink bra and well-toned tummy, but more importantly, I see her ruby pendant resting—and glowing bright red!—in the valley between her two shapely mounds.

“-Now- pay attention, Alexis.”

My roommate stands as straight as can be, jutting her tits –and- the glowing jewel toward me. My eyes—like my body—frozen, I can’t help but look, shocked and confused by this glowing bauble and the half-eyed, almost lustful stare worn on Rose’s face. Then I notice that her eyes, too, are glowing. My god…what’s happened to her? And what are they doing to me?

Once more, Jonathan’s voice breaks my train of thought…demolishing it, in fact, reducing it to tiny pieces I’ll never recall. He says, “Look at the jewel on Rose’s breast. Stare at it. Think of nothing else but its gorgeous red glow…

“…and the sound of my voice.”

It fills me, the light…this is its power. I feel the energy coursing through my body—taking hold, taking control—and Jonathan’s words echoing through the cavern of my pliant mind. The part of me still fighting…the more I see the pendant’s crimson hue…the more I take its light into my eyes…the more I feel its hot energy washing over me…the more it dies. Ages seem to go by before that fire is finally snuffed out forever, and I realize that I –must- do what Jonathan tells me. After all, he says so himself.

“You will do whatever I tell you to do, Alexis. You cannot resist me; it is impossible,” he announces.

Yes, I –will- do whatever Jonathan tells me to do. I cannot resist him; it would be impossible!

What does Jonathan tell me to do?
