A night to remember

All day their was a hustle and bussle around your home and were the military had set up. Nervous energy and excitement was frought around the place. A type of satellite in the shape of an obelisk had been constructed out in the courtyard and it seemed to be where everything had been set up.

You looked at the date and it said 04/02/2023 which rang an alarm in your head you had received a email saying to get out of your house by then thinking nothing of it you just had forgotten about it but now the coincidence seemed too great.

You couldnt find Jasper all day to inform him off this and then the experiment started.

A whirring incessant beem illuminated the sky over the constructed dish as a beam shot forth piercing the stars while all the military stared their was a sickening cracking sound. Then panic amongst the forces dropping their equipment and moving backwards before a flash of light and darkness.
