A nice walk along the lake

You and Karen walk along the shore east of the cottage. The Smith property has about a half mile of lake frontage. It goes more or less east to west. The western shoreline is rocky but the eastern shoreline is fine beach sand for about 600 feet. If you were to wade in the water you are walking north. The beach continues east for about a mile and a half. There is a small public beach about a mile away. The public boat launch is further east.

While you can't see them in the dark there are lots of nice small and mid sized cottages along the beach. The public beach and boat launch is in another county and the last bit of road to the Smith property is rough and gets rougher as it continues east where it dead ends just before the county line. While only 150 feet (the width of the double lot) it is several miles by road from the driveway of the last cottage to the park with the public beach.

You are almost to the park when you hear a couple of voices. It is people-not the kind of voices that are in the heads of crazy people. Karen can hear them too. (Please give this chapter a like or comment if you appreciate my humor.)
