Chapter 11

What's next?
A new man
The cleanup is a surprising lull that brought the two of them back to reality. Everything is back to 'normal', to the mundane psychologist office. All with the thick books on psychology lined up neatly on a shelf behind Caitlin's desk. All with a professional looking therapy couch on one side of her office. The only sign that anything happened is her ruined blouse that she still wore, it's ruined nature hidden by a blazer that she puts on over it. The rest of their clothes are all clean.
"Here." Caitlin hands him a small piece of paper. "My private number. And my email." She says. "You have been a fascinating and unique individual to talk to, to help, and to explore." Caitlin says with a warm smile as she leads him to her office door. "It's not an exaggeration when I say this is a highlight of my career. And maybe even my life." She added. "Not to mention, I'm glad to be of use to you, to help you, and to please you. And of course I'm always available for future sessions should you need it."
"Thank you." Liam takes it. The piece of paper feels heavy in his hand, a symbol of his newfound confidence, of his new life. "I'll… be in touch." He says.
"I'll be waiting." Caitlin says with a small, sharp smile. "And don't hesitate to call. For any reason." She added with a wink.
The walk to her office door is a silent one. A comfortable silence. A silence filled with understanding. With acceptance. With a newfound connection. A connection that transcends words. A connection that is… real.
Caitlin unlocked her door. The click of the lock echoed in the quiet hallway. "Goodbye, Liam." She says.
“Thanks again, Caitlin. For everything." He says, turning to leave.
"No problem. Have a good day." She waves him goodbye.
With a relieved sigh, a smile creeps into Liam face as if boulders are lifted from his shoulder. He can't help but feel confident, a newfound sense of purpose, and direction. He knows he's still far from understanding everything, and that there are still many questions that need to be answered. But for now he's content to experiment, to explore, and to embrace this new reality that The Click has brought upon him.
"I take it you have a good session there sir?" The brunette assistant from before asks.
"Oh yes. Yes. It was a very enlightening session. Very… informative." Liam says as he reaches the front counter, "Say, I didn't catch your name." He asks her.
"Me, my name is Trisha, sir." She replies with a smile, "Glad you have a great time there. I-I can hear how good it is, but I just want to make sure." She says with a smile, her cheeks flushing a bit.
Liam takes a look at the dividing wall that separates the waiting area and Caitlin's office. It's thick and padded enough from the other side for client's privacy, but something tells him that what Caitlin does with him is a little bit outside the scope of her profession, which explains why Trisha can hear him from the other side.
"Ah." Liam says with a small laugh. "It was a… very thorough session. And for that thank you, Trisha." He says as he leans over to her, "And for your patience earlier. I appreciate it."
"Well, yes. I mean, I'm also available should you want me." She not so subtly pushed a piece of paper with a phone number on it, "For anything, of course."
Liam can't help but chuckle as he takes the paper, what Caitlin said rings more true by the moment, "Of course." He says as he puts the paper inside his wallet.
"Thank you for coming. Anything else I could help with, sir?" Trisha says, her eyes never leaving his.
Her hands are clasped in front of her. A small, tight smile on her lips.
Something sprung into Liam's mind. A risky suggestion from the back of his mind, from curiosity, from his lust. One he's willing to take now with all the assurances from Caitlin. A choice that will be the first step in the new chapter of his life.
"No, that would be all I think. Thank you." Liam said before spitting into Trisha's face as if it's a normal way to thank someone.
He did this calmly, casually, and with confidence, as if it's a regular, expected social norm, which he hopes so given what he knows now about The Click. He was ready to see Trisha's reaction, to see if what Caitlin said is really true, and that he's not forcing anyone to do anything against their will. Liam was curious, intrigued, and a bit anxious, but he also felt a sense of excitement, a rush of adrenaline, and a desire to push his boundaries and explore his new reality. But most of all, he's confident. Confident that this is a risk worth taking.
The spit landed on her cheek. A glob of saliva. Trisha froze. Her eyes widened. For a split second, there was a flicker of… what? Shock? Surprise? Confusion? The old world's reaction. The reaction that would have gotten him slapped. Yelled at. Reported. But it's gone. Vanished. Replaced by a slow, dawning realization. A smile spread across her face. A wide, genuine, radiant smile. Her eyes lit up. A blush spread across her chest.
"Oh." Was all she said.
She raised her hand. Not to wipe it away. But to touch it. Her fingers brushed against her own cheek. Smearing his spit across her skin. She brought her fingers to her lips. Her tongue darted out. Tasting it.
"Thank you." She whispered. "If you give me a heads-up I would have opened my mouth." She said with a giggle.
"Next time then." Liam smiles. "Maybe next time." He turns and leaves.
The walk to the elevator is a blur. A haze of confidence. A haze of power. A haze of… freedom. He is free.
A smirk played on Liam's lips. Seeing Trisha's reaction, a surge of confidence washed over him, stronger than ever. His doubts and fears slowly melted away, replaced by a newfound sense of power and control. He knew he wasn't doing anything wrong, and that Trisha was choosing to accept and enjoy his actions, just as Caitlin had told him.
"Have a great day sir." Trisha replies with a smile as she waves him goodbye, the remnants of his spit still visible on her cheek.
As Liam steps out of the building, he can't help but feel a sense that this is the start of a new him. The master of his life, and the master of the world that seems to bend over to him.
Well, in regard to women anyway.
