A new beginning

As you and Samara walk into the dining room, conversation quickly comes to a stop. All eyes fall in the new arrival, and she seems to shrink back slightly. You break the silence by introducing her. “Everyone, I want you to welcome Samara. She has decided to join us, and help take down the demon lord. I know it will take time to trust her, but I want to give her a chance.”

Samara collects herself, standing straighter. She’s still shorter than you, unlike her sister. She takes a deep breath, then steps forward and speaks. “Hello. I know what I’ve done to you and others is horrible. I want a chance to become something different. I want to become what all of you are. I understand it if you can’t accept me though…”

Before anyone else can speak, Sadie bounces to her feet and walks over, looking at Samara with a big smile. “Ooh, you’re pretty! I like your horns!”

Samara is a bit taken aback, and her eyes go wide as she notices Sadie’s scars. “You’re…father attacked you, how are you alive?”

Sadie giggles. “Joshie saved me! He’s so wonderful. I bet you’ll like him a lot, we all do!”

Samara looks at you, and you shrug. Maya comes over next, looking at her as she approaches. “Hello, Samara. So, you’re Kali’s sister? That explains why she’s excitedly rearranging her room right now.”

Maya leans closer. “I don’t trust you yet, but I trust Josh. He hasn’t been wrong about this sort of thing yet. We were all nervous about Kali at first too. I will do my best to treat you well. Welcome.”

With that, Maya shakes Samara’s hand. Samara gives a small smile. “I appreciate it. I hope I can earn your trust one day.”

Maya gets a sly grin. “Well, unfortunately for you, you missed out on the orgy by a couple days.”

Samara blinks, then looks at you. “The what?”

You chuckle. “Yeah, that’s a thing that happens sometimes. Like I told you, no pressure whatsoever on that front.”

From across the table, Uzume speaks up. “Speak for yourself, Josh. I can’t be the only one looking forward to demon family fun in the bedroom!”

Samara gasps, then laughs. “This really is an interesting group. Lilim relationships don’t really…it’s not like normal families.”

Now Anna speaks up. “You mean you and Kali have already…”

Visibily flustered now, Samara waves her hands. “No, no! I just mean it’s not really a taboo thing among demons. Kali and I were never really close, before.”

While the girls pepper Samara with questions, you move over to talk to Elys and Rachel. “So, I know you two probably have the biggest reservations about this. Anything to add?”

Elys shakes her head. “I’m with Maya on thisss. I trussst you, not her. But I’ll give her a chance. You were right with Kali.”

Rachel nods. “I’m the same, especially since she’s still in that collar. As long as that stays on, I’m satisfied.”

You smile, and give each of them a kiss. “It’s good to have the approval of the…experienced members of the family.”

They both laugh, and Rachel playfully smacks you. “That’s not nice! You know im sensitive about being older!”

You smile. “Don’t worry, Samara is like sixty.”

Rachel smiles. “Demons are cheating. She doesn’t look a day past twenty.”

You chuckle. “I guess you have some competition for the title of ‘mommy’ now!”
