A nervous conversation

"Nathalie?" Lady Chapman calls through the door again.

Nathalie looks at Adam, wide eyed.

"Say something!" he hisses.

"Yes, mum?" Nathalie's voice wavers.

"I've brought you that book you were asking about in the Vikings," Lady Chapman says. "It's a great read."

The doorhandle turns.

"No! Don't come in!" Nathalie says, her voice sounding slightly strangled. Adam looks around desparately for somewhere to hide, but it is impossible of course.

"Why ever not?"

"I'm not decent!"

The door handle stops moving. Lady Chapman sounds almost offended. "Really, dear! Its nothing I haven't seen before."

"I'm not decent," Nathalie repeats, the razor trembling in her hand. "Thanks for the book. Leave it outside and I'll pick it up later. Please!"
