A nearby alleyway

Just as she pondered about her situation she noticed a small alleyway between buildings. She walked closer and took a peek inside. The alleyway was quite tight as it only allowed only one person to traverse it without their shoulder touching the wall on the either side. The alley was turning left at the end. It probably led to some kind of back entrance of some building, or a dead end. Or deeper alleys.

It didn't look like a path regularly walked by people. A soft humming of machinery was heard from the inside of the alley, which she assumed was the sound of outdoor AC condenser units.

Mai is considering her options. She could continue her way, risking a very possible accident, or be bold, walk into the secluded alley and find a spot where she could quietly drop the bricks.
