"Okay, Brooke," said a familiar voice. "Margaret says you can knock off work now."
Brooke stopped scraping the top of the dock and turned to see Montana's friend Roxanne standing behind her, still wearing her trademark red dress.
"Does this mean I'm done for the day?" asked Brooke.
"No, just till you eat your lunch," said Roxanne. "And if you don't hurry, you're going to have to eat your lunch by yourself."
"Give me a minute," said Brooke as she struggled to stand up. "I'm been on all fours all morning."
"Oh, I've definitely been there, honey," said Roxanne as she gazed casually at Brooke's naked tush.
Brooke hurriedly ran toward the area where her lunch was being served only to see Montana's friend Rio wave her away.
"What's the deal?" asked Brooke.
Rio held up a garden hose and said, "Margaret says I have to wash you with this first before you can come in and eat."
"Seriously?" asked Brooke.
"Yes, seriously," said Rio. "You know how Margaret is."
Brooke just sighed and turned around while Rio sprayed her uncovered backside with cold water. To be fair, a blast of cold water on that part of her anatomy actually felt good after all that time under the hot sun.
And at least it wasn't Margaret who was spraying her. Brooke got the feeling that Margaret would have liked spraying her way too much. Come to think of it, Montana would have liked spraying her too. And no doubt Montana would have liked doing other stuff to her as well. And yet here she was, out in the middle of nowhere, totally exposed to Montana's eyes for the duration of the summer. Why, there was no telling what might happen. In fact, the two of them might even --
"Hey, I turned the hose off five minutes ago," said Rio. "Are you going to just stand there all day or do you want to come in and eat some lunch?"
Oh, right, thought Brooke. Food. She originally came over here to get food. It wasn't her fault that Rio went ahead and got her all -- ahem -- wet.
