A mistake

The following days are pretty normal, although Margot has to go back to Los Angeles to start shooting a new movie. She'll be away for at least a few weeks and you're sad to see her go. In addition to her delightful companionship, her absence also means you don't have a partner for the website, which means more work for you.

In the meantime, you're too busy with the mundane day to day of running the city as mayor, and the days pass by quickly, until Thursday. It's the middle of the afternoon and Ashley and some other people are in your office to go through the latest crime statistics with you, when you see the breaking news alert on the TV screen on the wall. It catches everyone's attention and Ashley turns it up for the report.

"...have breaking news. Just a few minutes ago, someone posted an explicit video online that supposedly features Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr in an extraordinarily compromising situation. Please be aware that while we have censored the footage, this is still very graphic and we advise viewer discretion," the female anchor says before the aforementioned footage plays. Everyone in the room except you gasps, as the split screen video of Miranda Kerr being strapped down in the wall while men take turns at her plays. Her sensitive parts are blurred and the faces of the men aren't visible, but Miranda's face is clearly seen, as are her angst expressions and tears. After a while, the news channel stops playing the video and cuts back to the anchor.

"We are still working to verify the video, but it appears to be authentic and a product of a recent website that has emerged that allows people to bid on x-rated videos of their favorite celebrities. It is unknown who operates the website or how they are getting these famous women to star in the videos, but we are told that the FBI is looking into it. We have tried to contact Miss Kerr for comment, but she has been unreachable so far. We'll be right back after these messages."

Everyone in the room is murmuring to each other about what they had just seen, and you, flustered, dismiss them all from your office. Once they're gone, you look for the video online. The search results are numerous and it looks like the original, posted by James Plexton anonymously, has been taken down. He had originally posted it for download for $0.99, which isn't much, but he must have still sold thousands of downloads before it was taken down. It doesn't matter anyway, as the video has been pirated on hundreds of websites and you easily find one. It's the exact video you had sent Plexton, and it's completely uncensored, with 4 hours of Miranda being continuously fucked by various men.

You're sitting at your desk, wondering what to do, when you get another breaking news alert, this time on your phone, telling you that the FBI has interviewed Miranda about the video and that she is cooperating with their investigation. Panicking, you try calling Margot but it goes straight to voicemail. Deciding that you need to do some damage control quick before this gets out of hand, you make yourself invisible and teleport to Miranda's apartment, hoping to retroactively erase her memory and make her get the FBI to back off.

The apartment is quiet and there's no sign of Miranda. You walk around and don't find her. However, when you enter the master bedroom, you see clothes everywhere in a mess and that a large portion are missing from the wardrobe. It looks like she packed a bag in a hurry after the video surfaced and disappeared. You wonder if she's with the FBI or hiding elsewhere. Looking out the window and down to the street in front of the building, you see swamps of photographers and camera crews outside, waiting to get a peek of Miranda.

"Shit!" you exclaim, cursing the arrogance that led to your carelessness.
