A messenger

Janno grabbed a robe and quickly donned it. He opened the door slightly so no one could see much further in the room than his face. He thought it was the maid returning, but instead it looked like a young boy, about 12 years of age, who was staring up at him.

"Er, can I help you?" Janno asked, praying that this wasn't a boy who had a wild fantasy about being an adventurer and was seeking to jump into the group.

"Yeah, I'm here to deliver a message," the boy replied. Janno relaxed a bit. "It is from the mayor of Woodhaven. He needs to talk to you."

Janno wondered about what. Nonetheless, it never hurt to meet with those in positions of power, especially in a small town such as this. Janno responded, "When and where."

"As soon as you can. I'm just message boy here. He's paying me to deliver this message...plus whatever tip you give me." This last part was added a bit hopefully.

Janno sighed. "Can you wait a bit. I'm just in the process of dressing. Then, I'll come down and be off to the mayor's office. Then, I'll tip you if you're around. By the way, where is the mayor's office."

"A block over from the central town square," the boy replied. "It's the only three-story building in the entire town. You can't miss it."

Janno quickly grabbed some coppers from his pouch and flung it out to the boy who smiled and went on his way. He then turned back to the two women who were sprawled on the bed. He noticed that Bella was idly pinching one of Ariel's nipples and the girl didn't seem to mind this. "Time to get up. I have to talk to the mayor over something. You have to leave my room before the maid comes back to clean it up. I'll fill you in later on what my meeting is about."

Bella helped Ariel up and gave her a sound kiss which the blond girl returned. But, at Janno's urging, they quickly dressed and left the room. Janno himself got dressed and donned his armor and equipment, just to look adventuresome when he met the mayor.

Then, he quickly moved down the stairs and out of the Wild Gryffin Inn towards the mayor's office.
