A mere two hours

While there were closer schools, including one in her town, just down the road from their neighborhood, Luna knew that further was better, both for independence... and the try to escape everyone she graduated with who had shown their intense willingness to make use of the claim that they "own" luna now from the final day of school.

Luna shakes the thought from her head, she looks forward to seeing her camp friends again and remembers that Rebecca said she had a surprise for her when they get there, It could be anything.

Luna's parents are stoic and quiet for most of the drive, nervous about sending their daughter somewhere they can't protect her from her own... inability to stay dressed, but they know they can't hold her forever... she's an adult now, as she has made very clear.

As the car pulls into the small, sleepy college town Luna will be staying in for the next several years though, they warm up a little, the town is cute, and cozy, almost like somewhere out of a Hallmark Christmas movie... in August. The family stops and has one last breakfast at a small cafe before heading to the off-campus housing in which Luna will be staying, after some tearful goodbyes, Luna is left there on the front porch, ready to walk in and see her friends.
