A meeting with a lawyer

It took about an hour before the female friend finally arrived, pulling up in a BMW. She stepped out of the car wearing a black pantsuit and black heels and smiled as she looked up and down at the four naked people desperately trying to cover themselves. “Hi Luna,” David said. “Thanks for um coming by. Let’s go somewhere where we can talk.”

She nodded. “Climb on in, I should have room.”

Vanessa took shotgun while the other three crammed in the back as Luna drove off. “So why exactly are all of you naked?” she asked.

“It’s a long story,” Vanessa said.

“I have time,” Luna said.

Vanessa then filled in Luna on what was happening. “Wow,” Luna said after Vanessa finished explaining. “So you want me to look at the will and see if there’s some sort of loophole?”

“That’s right,” Vanessa said.

“And what if there’s not?” Luna asked.

“Then we’ll have to figure something else out,” Vanessa said.

“I see,” Luna said. “Well we’re here now so let’s get out and go take a look at this will.”

They all stepped out of the car and headed inside Luna’s house as she grabbed her laptop and met them in the kitchen. She looked at the will, carefully reading each line, and then spoke. “There is a way out,” she said. “But you might not like it.”

“What is it?” Lauren and Vanessa asked at the same time.

“Well actually we have a few options. It says if none qualify for the inheritance, then it shall default to the estate. It basically means that none of you would own anything, and that would also mean you would have a chance to gather personal belongings that you bought, but you won’t ever be able to step onto the property ever again after that. The other option is that if all three can agree to share the inheritance equally, then each will receive 1/3 of the inheritance which would basically mean you wouldn’t be millionaires, but you would at least get some money to help you out,” Luna explained.

“But mom probably won’t agree to share the inheritance,” Vanessa said. “Which means our only real option is to make her unqualified for the money, but how exactly do we even do that?”

“You have to prove that your mother is just as bad as you. She falls under the same rules as you do. Unfortunately, there are no more charity balls And you’re kicked off the property,” Luna said. “However, there is a third option that you won’t like, but it is a choice.”

“What is it?” Vanessa asked.

“You both can walk away from it all right now. You can have a new start without the drama, without your mother controlling anything. You can start over,” Luna said.

“How do we do that? We don’t even have clothes,” Vanessa said. “And we don’t have any money or income.”

“I can guarantee you a job that pays decently and I can also get you some clothes if you tell me your sizes. Your honest sizes,” Luna said. “You can leave it all right now and start a new life, Vanessa, but it’s your choice to make. You just have to give me an answer.”
