A meeting with Susanne

As you step out into the fading light, the energy from your transformation into Milla still coursing through your veins, you remind yourself to stay vigilant. You're not just wearing her appearance; you're wearing her life, and with that comes her relationships, her mannerisms, and her history.

"Susanne!" you call out, drawing from the well of Milla's memories. They aren't just classmates; they're best friends, practically inseparable. The level of intimacy in their friendship means you have to be even more careful. Best friends notice the little things.

Susanne jogs up to you, her smile broadening. "Milla! I was hoping I'd catch you before you left. You vanished so fast after practice!"

"Sorry about that," you reply, your voice carrying Milla's lighthearted tone. "Just had a lot on my mind. You know how it is."

"I do," she says, bumping her shoulder against yours—a familiar gesture between them, you remember. "Wanna grab a smoothie on the way home? You can unload some of that brain clutter on me."

You accept the offer, grateful for the opportunity to strengthen the authenticity of being Milla with her best friend. As you walk side by side to the local smoothie place, you fall into the rhythm of their friendship. You discuss everything from the latest school drama to the tactics for the next soccer match—Milla's knowledge flowing through you like a second nature.

With each step, you become more comfortable, more at ease. Susanne's laughter, her playful teasing, her candid openness—it all reminds you that Milla's life is full of connections that run deep. You're careful to respond with the warmth and familiarity that Milla would, recalling personal jokes and shared secrets that make Susanne smile and nod in recognition.

Eventually, you reach Milla's house, and after a heartfelt goodbye and a promise to text later, you watch Susanne walk away. Her presence is a reminder of the responsibility you've taken on by stepping into Milla's life.

Inside the house, you're greeted by the familiar scenes of Milla's family life. Her mother's warmth, the comfort of her home, and the everyday banter at the dinner table all unfold around you. You play your part well, sharing stories with just enough detail to pass scrutiny, laughing at the right moments, and asking questions that Milla would ask.

Later, in the privacy of Milla's bedroom, you finally have a moment to reflect. The walls are adorned with posters of her favorite bands and athletes, and the shelves are filled with trophies and mementos from years of friendship and family life.

You get ready for bed, following Milla's nightly routine almost mechanically. Each step feels like walking a tightrope between who you are and who you're pretending to be. You slip into her bed, pulling the covers up to your chin, and for a moment, you allow yourself to relax.
