A meeting going south and an old friend

I walked behind the trio of women and sat down at a nearby table sipping my coffee. I could see over the shoulder of the middle who was a brunette at the laptop they were staring at. All I could see was a pie chart.

The woman sitting opposite of the blonde that had caught my attention was a African-American with ringlet shoulder length dark hair. She pointed at the laptop screen, "Probably move that higher though," she suggested.

"I think that would be too high," The blonde then replied.

"I don't think we can move it," the brunette said as she tried, clicking on her laptop.

I smiled to myself and shook my head and continued to nurse my coffee. As I was reaching for my watch in my pocket a voice called out to me and I looked up to see a pink haired Latina dressed in black hoodie, a pair of grey jeans with the knees torn and pair of worn Converse sneakers. "Alexis?" I ask by greeting as the girl smiled and sat down at my table.

Alexis Vargas was probably one my only friends growing up that stuck with me through college. Naturally we grew apart after we graduated high school with me heading out of town for college and Alexis staying in town for trade school. It was always nice to see, I would have looked her up sooner but were both busy.

"Jeez Wes, great seeing you here bud how have you been?"

"I've been good, how about yourself?"

"Living the dream," Alexis replied with shrug. "What brings you downtown?"

"Helped my mother with a thing and then thought I come down for coffee," I replied holding my coffee cup. I always thought of Alexis as a sister but after not seeing her for a few months she looked pretty cute. My eyes drifted down to her hoodie and I could just make out the shape of her breasts.

"Oh how is Martina doing?" Alexis asked snapping from my perverted thoughts of my oldest friend.

"She's good," I answer with a nod looking up at Alexis' face. She was cute and a little hot. Her pink hair contrasted well with her olive skin. "Still doing the book keeping thing and real estate on the side."

"That's cool, I saw her at the retirement home last week when I was visiting my grand but she seem busy so I didn't say anything. Your dad good too?"

"Yeah," I nod and shrug, "He's doing his accounting things I guess."

Alexis was mentioning something about her parents when I lost focus as the blonde of the trio said, "It was good like this and it was ready to go, I really don't don't think any changes need to be made."

The African-American woman then said, "We need to make it pop more, we nearly put everyone to sleep with our last one."

"Guys...I don't think this program lets me do anymore than this," the brunette chimed in.

I stopped time.
