Chapter 5
by alphakennyone
What is she holding in her hands?
A manila folder.
This asian woman looks hotter than the first and she also dons a pair of thin black-rimmed reading glasses. She is smaller and a couple inches shorter than the first and when you're busy admiring her looks you remember, that, typically, asian women are small and petite.
She takes a quick look at the contents of the folder and then she closes it and hands it to the first asian woman, who looks disgust just by the sight of the second.
The first, just like the second, takes a quick glance and then looks into the eyes of the general standing beside her. Their eyes meet and at once a signal is given to the general, telling him to give the order to have the soldier at attention.
"Atten-hut!!!"
At once, all soldiers but one scrawny-looking soldier stand at attention, chins up, focusing on the general's face, but still looking forward. The late soldier is given a standard, ear-deafening scold from the general and at once he straightens like the rest of the soldiers. The general then gives a hand signal to the two asian women, and then to the soldiers in the room. The asian women stand next the general, and all the soldiers in the room stand behind each new recruit.
At last the first woman speaks. "When I call your name, please take a step forward."
"Michael." The guy next to you steps forward. He was the one who sat next to you the other side of the bus.
"Eric." The late soldier from before steps frantically forward. Again, you think in your head that he will never be a soldier like you.
"Charlie." Ironically, a Chinese guy with the same body type as you steps forward.
"Chris." The other guy standing next to you steps forward. His hair is more thick and goes down sort of like a mullet.
"Alex." A guy with reading glasses steps forward. You notice his legs are wobbly and shaking in nervousness.
"Justin." A short latino guy steps forward.
"Dan." A black guy at the end of the row steps forward.
"Heath." You hear your name like if it was heard in a canyon. You step forward without question.
As you step forward you notice that the more muscular guys are left. But to your curiosity, you are the last one called.
The drill sergeants near the door calls the rest of the new recruits out of the building. The ones that stepped forward stay with the general, the two asian women, and a soldier for each new recruit standing behind them. The bus driver backs out the bus and closes the hanger door.
The second asian woman calls out to each and every soldier behind the recruits. His voice is more child-like but with authority. "You have been given a slip of paper with a location on it. Escort your recruit to that location and stay with him until further notice. You shall wait with him, but not converse iwth him on any matter. You shall wait until further instruction.
The general shouts to clarify, "ARE YOU CLEAR?"
The soldiers behind you shouts in unison, "YES SIR!"
One by one, each recruit is escorted out of the hanger. Out of sheer curiosity you start to think where each one is going.
Whose story do you follow?
