A magic wand

Jim was on his way to the city when he came by an yard sale in front of an old mansion. He stopped, wondering what they were selling. Most of the boxes were full of old stuff, paintings, decorative figues and such things. Nothing which was raising an interest for him. Then he noticed on the bottom of one box something, which looked rather out of place. He reached down and pulled out what looked a bit like a magic wand, how they were used by magicans in magic shows.

"What does this cost?" he found himself asking a young woman, who was helping with the sale. She came over and examined it.

"Five bucks?" she suggested and Jim reached for his wallet. As he handed her the money, she asked jokely: "Want to do a magic show?"

"I ... I don't know," Jim said. "I just feel I want the wand."

"Ha, ha," the girl laughted. "Maybe it really has magic powers and wants you as its new master."

Jim laughted and looked down on the wand in his hand. Was he feeling a tingling feeling in his hand? "Why do we not try out?" he said.

"How?" the girl asked. "Want to turn me into a frog or so?"

Jim mustered her. She had her brown hair in a ponytail and some glasses on her nose. Overall she was giving him a cute. slightly nerdy impression. "What if I turn your hair blonde?" he joked and pointed the wand at her. He waved it a few times and suddenly he could feel a even mmore intense tingle, spreading from his fingers up into his arm. Then he almost dropped the wand, as in front of him, the girls hair had started to change. Spreading from its roots, blonde color was spreading along the hair, replacing the brown color.

"What the heck?" he mumbled as she had become a blonde in front of him. He looked down on the wand. "This can't be ...," he mumbled.

"What you mean?" the girl asked. She didn't seemed to have noticed the change in her hair color at all.

"Your hair," Jim said. "Its blonde."

"My hair? What is with my hair?" she asked and reached for the ponytail. "I like my blonde hair," she then told him. "What wrong with it?"

"No ... nothing," Jim quickly reacted.
