Chapter 11

What do you find?
A magic bag and more.
The city looks old, very old, but at the same time it is much cleaner than you would have imagined a city from the middle ages to look, and there seem to be many things that indicate that you aren't simply in the past. You spend several hours shopping with everything you are carrying seeming to get heavier and heavier. It occurs to you to buy a horse or something but after watching several people robbed without them even realizing it you can't bring yourself to leave anything unattended. Lots of suits of armor, weapons, and even odd magical items all call your attention but you don't commit to anything, not sure what you really need or want. Part of you starts looking at food prices and the cost of an inn and thinks that at under 5 gold a day maybe you should just spend a year or so getting to know this place, then get a job. That said you are pretty sure 5000 gold would even buy you a little store of your own. But as you watch another person get robbed and not notice you can't help but wonder why you spot all of this stuff if no one else does? Looking around more and more you start to notice you kinda see everything, as if you were suddenly hyper aware. It is a very odd feeling. Walking down an alley you even spot the outline of a door on a blank stone wall, plus the tiny little catch that opens it. “I don't dare.” You say quietly as a little voice says, open it. But you don't, the weight of the bag and shotgun once again nagging at your shoulder.
Finally when looking around a little shop of magic items you spot something that catches your attention immediately. It looks like a simple leather belt pouch with one large and one small compartment, but looking at it you can sort of tell that it is magic and much larger on the inside. Pulling open the locking clasps you look in and it seems rather normal, yet as you put your hand in you can tell it is huge. The shopkeeper informs you that it can hold up to 200 lbs yet never weighs over 3. That is all it takes to start the money flowing out of your hands. Before you know it when you walk out the door all you have left is 7 gold and 13 silver, enough to stay in an in and eat for at most two days. “What the fuck did I just do?” You ask yourself looking down at your new things. “I was going to open a store of my own and get a place to live wasn't I? Well fuck it all.” You know you wanted the pack, everything you bought you decided you wanted, but why the hell did you blow everything, with no prospect of getting more. “What am I going to do now?” You ask the air, but of course there is no reply.
Confused and a bit angry you stroll down the lane till you find a little shop selling sweets. Plopping your sexy little ass down at a tiny table you blow another 4 silver on lunch and dessert as you take stock of what you just bought. The belt pouch of course, which you load with everything you have other than the holstered pistol, finding that you can even stick in the shotgun, which you find a little amazing. Opting to keep the satchel she got you for food or other things that don't weigh much. In the little pocket of the pouch you put the second magazine for the gun as well as a handful of bullets and the rest of your coins. It seems when you reach in the pack whatever you are looking for is right at your fingertips. You are also pretty sure that when you are wearing the pack, only you can open it, so you feed it onto your belt and arrange it so it sits at your hip opposite your holstered pistol. Pulling up the other little things you purchased you look them over, trying to use your magical abilities, or whatever. The first is a simple silver ring that your sight tells you will protect you from harm as well as a shield. The second is a pair of copper wrist guards that are yet another level of protection, as good as light armor, you believe. You aren't exactly sure how these things work exactly just that all three should help you stay alive if attacked. Next is another ring, this one sort of blueish steel, that you are sure will protect you from heat or even direct contact with fire. The last is a little metal flask that is apparently pretty powerful, as far as you are concerned. It has a tiny link to the elemental plane of water, whatever that means, but in effect it is always full, no matter how much you pour out. “Holy shit. So I could like flood the world or something?” You say nearly **** on your little square of sweet yummyness. Tipping the flask down you indeed start pouring water into your glass, but while it doesn't stop pouring, the flow is very slow. Perfect for drinking or filling a stew pot, but no real flood danger, still very cool. Sliding it into the pouch, you now just need to decide what to do next. You might not need to worry about thirst, but your tiny stack of coins isn't going to last a lot longer.
Better come up with something, what do you do?
Somewhere else.
