A lone Crowman

From your hiding place behind the tree's thick trunk, you catch sight of a large, humanoid figure. At first he seems to be wearing a dark cloak, but further inspection reveals it to be feathers. It's some sort of bird-man! You remember Headmistress Smith mentioning Crowmen once, apparently they have a reputation for being vicious. But the thing they're most well known for is their flight speed.

That's it! The beast can fly! All you have to do is dominate it and you can go wherever you wish. Of course, no one said that it was going to be easy. Eventually you come to realize what the creature is doing on the ground. It's crouched over a vaguely humanoid skeleton, one that's been picked remarkably clean. They're meat eaters for certain, but you can't recall if they feed upon humans. It's head bobs about in a typically bird-like manner, as if keeping a constant watch for predators, or prey.

Ever so slowly, you begin to step towards the Crowman, trying to stay out of it's sight. Unfortunately, you weren't watching your step well enough.

CRACK.

The instant the branch breaks beneath your boot, the beast lets out a terrible caw, turning it's head to glare directly at you with those glassy black eyes. It observes you warily, as if trying to decide what you are and what to do with you. With a sudden movement, it rises from the kill, dropping a clean white bone from it's claws. "Meat!" It squawks excitedly, it's voice a throaty crackle that causes the fine hairs on the back of your neck to stand erect.

Now that you're closer to the Crowman, you can make out it's finer features. It's at least two feet taller than you are, even with it's back in a permanent hunch. Due to it's posture, those massive black wings brush against the ground, making quite the imposing figure. It doesn't possess true arms, instead each wing is topped with three scaly claws, just like those on it's feet. The glimmering talons serve to remind you that it is a predatory monster. It's torso seems well muscled, though it's hard to tell trough all of those feathers. The crow's chest is also quite large, but since it's a flyer, it would need to have exceptionally strong lungs. While you don't see a cock, you eventually realize that it is part bird, and it's nethers aren't just hanging about like a mammals would.

But while you were looking it over, it was doing the same, and the beast seemed to like what it saw. "Meat!" The Crowman repeated, launching itself at you with a dangerous speed. It crashes into you violently, knocking you onto your back with a surprising ****. The feathered fiend has you pinned, it's large body holding yours in place. The avian's sharp beak is far too close to your face for comfort, it doesn't seem to want to eat you, at least not just yet. But that begs the question..
