A little relaxation wouldn't hurt (Original)

I lay there on the ground for what seemed like a blink of eternity, the tendrils still enveloping me, inside and out...

My skin was being dragged over the dirt beneath me, like this thing was pulling me away from the clearing.

"Wait... whwat are- what are you..." I could barely slur the words aloud as the world spun around me. My mind grew fuzzy. I tried to **** myself up, but all I got for my efforts were pain and weakness instead of strength as I fell back against the ground.

I tried to move my arms toward the pack for the small dagger I carried, but I was much too far away now. The tendrils quickly responded to this by tightening their grip much less gently than before. They wrapped my arms to the side of my body, and I was fully bound by the vines now.

My eyes rolled back in my head, and I could feel myself slipping in and out of consciousness. My eyelids fluttered as if I had taken several strong hits of ****. "H-hey-" My voice trailed off as my mind was slipping. Despite my fear willing my body to rise, my vision blurred and slowly faded to black.

I woke up in a daze, perplexed as to where I was.
