A little black dress

“A little black dress of course! All girls should have one, and you’ve failed to pick one up! So I’m afraid we’ll have to go and get you one”.

Andrew internally sighed but steeled himself, repeating that after this one last day his nightmare would be over.

“Oh yeah, I’m like such a ditz, lol! Thank you for remembering for me, mommy!”.

“That’s what mothers are for! Now let’s see if your little girl friend is about, shall we?”.

Andrea knew that Kristi had the day off work, but her absence provided an excuse for Charlene not to settle on The Spot, and to drag Andrea around the entirety of the mall’s fashion boutiques, from low fashion to high fashion, trying on and buying a variety of LBDs and matching heels, including from some very upscale retailers.

“It’s not every day your little girl gets her first LBD”, Charlene rationalised.

With the dress and some new accessories successfully acquired, Charlene made Andrea endure a tanning booth session at the mall’s tanning salon, then the two had brunch in the fanciest restaurant at the mall where rich housewives and businesspeople were in abundance.

“Now here’s the plan. You’ll go on the date tonight with Brian. You enjoy yourself, but more than anything make sure he enjoys himself to. I know you’ve already made out with him, so give him the best tonguing you’ve ever given anybody in your life. At the end of the date, make sure he knows that you definitely want to see him again. If it becomes unavoidable, then you may have to go on another couple of dates. And you’ll still need to be texting him. But soon, Andrea’s father is going to get a promotion which means you’ll have to move to Canada, and you can’t do a long distance relationship. You’ll tell Brian he was the best thing about your time here, and you’ll always remember him, and that you two can text. Then, a couple of days later, Andrea moves away, Andrew gets back from being with his now recovered father and is there to console his best friend. Brian has a broken heart but a summer love he’ll always cherish, and you’ll have learned your lesson. Andrea will still need to text Brian and send him pictures on occasion, but eventually she can get a boyfriend and have to stop messaging, or her feelings will get confused. Of course this means dear Kristi will lose her new friend too, but that’s just the way it’s gotta be. It’s a shame really, I think you two girls could have made quite the cute and progressive couple! Anyway, we all clear on that?”, Charlene instructed Andrea.

Andrew mulled the plan over and concluded that it was the best possible solution to avoid permanent damage to Brian’s psyche.

He was remarkably morose about the prospect of having to never see Kristi again though. But still, it was for the best, he supposed.

“Yep mommy…”
