A knock at the door

I changed my clothes and had a quick shower. As soon as I returned to my bedroom I heard a knock on the door. I opened it to find Anita standing outside.

“Hi,” she said. “Can I come in?”

“Uh, sure,” I said.

She walked in and shut the door behind her.

“Anjali, I need to tell you something,” she said.

“Yes?” I asked nervously.

“I know you were peeping on us.”

My heart skipped a beat. “How... how do you know?”

“I saw you when we were leaving the room.”

“Oh my god!” I said. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to...”

“It’s okay,” she said. “I don’t mind you watching.”

“Really?” I said.

“Yes,” she replied.

"When I came to this city I knew no one. During those early days Manoj Ji helped me a lot . He showed me around, introduced me to people, helped me find a job. He told him a lot of things about his personal life. Like how he was in a sexless marriage. We became very close. One day when he was telling me about his problems he broke down. I tried my best to calm him down. One thing led to another and we kissed. We both realized we had feelings for each other. And it started after that."

“He is very different from my previous boyfriend,” she said blushing. “Much bigger too. He is also very experienced and knows how to treat a lady. I enjoy every moment with him.”

I could see the love in her eyes as she spoke about him.

“Are you sure he won’t get into trouble with his wife?” I asked.

“He is very careful,” she replied. “We meet only when she is away visiting her parents. Also I think she suspects something but chooses to ignore it.”

“Anyway, I hope you understand why I need to keep this a secret,” she said. “Please don’t tell anyone, especially not his wife.”

“Of course not,” I assured her. “My lips are sealed.”

She smiled. “Thank you.”

She gave me a hug and left. I stood there with a smile on my face.
