A hospital bed

The steady beep of a heart monitor wakes you. You're now dressed in a hospital gown, lying in bed in a darkened, dirty room. A short nurse is busy changing some IVs.

"Welcome back, Mr. Doe. I hear you had quite a day today."

A thousand thoughts race through your head. Where are you? Who saved you? What are you injecting me with? All you manage to get out is a few sputters.

The nurse laughs. "Get some more rest, Mr. Doe. In the morning, you'll be taken to speak with the President."

The President? Did he pardon me? Why the explosions & gunfire? What about... What about...?

The sedative from the IV begins working its way into your system, & the world fades from you again.
