Chapter 2
by Javalar
Who are you?
A hard working former assistant.
You married your boss. You didn't plan to, of course. You just seem to have been at the right place, the right time. You started at your husband's company as an intern, were quickly promoted one of his personal assistants - and all fell into place from there.
You are a smart, pretty person and you are quite convinced that it was not only your looks that made your husband fall for you, but also your interest for numbers and your quick, strategic way of thinking. People were talking, of course. They called you "gold digger", "whore" and worse things. In the beginning, you tried to convince them that none of that was true, but in the end you gave up. Who cares what all those people think?
You now have access to riches beyond your imagination and even after the first months of marriage, you still try to come to grips with that. You never were somebody interested in wealth - but it is appealing and seductive, of course. But you feel somewhat uneasy in the world of the rich and the powerful. Deep inside you, there's still the young student who once wanted to change the world. You sometimes even find yourself arguing with your husband to use his money for more charitable purposes. Or to critisize him for being arrogant and indifferent towards the poor.
Physically, you are in normal shape. You were never somebody who enjoyed sport above all else and you frown upon women you exercise every day, just "to keep my husband happy". A happy marriage is not about the looks, right?
