Chapter 10 by soulfeaster
What happens in the morning?
A hangover and a revelation
Bright light blinds you as your raise your head, images from last night flashing before your eyes, you wondering whether it was all just a dream. Eventually you decide that it does not matter, you will not make a big deal out of what Melody said to you outside of the pub, since you don’t want to embarrass her. As far as her confession in her sleep goes you decide to also let this rest for now, the poor girl is simply too emotionally torn because of her by now ex boyfriend. So you simply blink a couple of times before you realize that you are in Melody’s bed alone and she is gone. With a rumble in your stomach and a sigh you decide that it is time to get up and get some food and water, since your head is still throbbing after last nights binge. Slowly and carefully you rise to your feet, swaying to both sides as the room seems to be moving around you a little bit. You let out a groan,
“All right I will never drink again…”
Although you quickly add, “… at least not that much anyway.”
Scratching your head you slowly stumble towards your living room as you hear the front door open. Looking up you see Melody hurrying in, she is dressed in a red turtleneck and washed out old jeans, but even in these every day clothes you cannot help but admire her body. In her right hand she is carrying a big black plastic bag and she stops dead in her tracks as she sees you. She quickly turns away from you and closes the door slowly. You decide to stick with your plan and pretend last night did not happen.
“Mornin’ Melody,” you say with a raspy voice. “Please make sure that I never drink that much again. How are you feeling anyway? You seemed to be in a worse state, from what I recall I had to almost carry you here.”
Melody quickly turns to face you again. You can see that her beautiful emerald eyes are welled up with tears.
“Sorry Jack, I will not let you…” her voice is but a whisper and her words seem to stop flowing from her mouth. You are about to ask her if everything is all right, as she starts to cry. Although you regret it a moment later you quickly rush towards her and embrace her. As you do she starts to blurt out
“I am so sorry Jack! You must think that I am such a slut! I did not want to embarrass you like this, I just…” Her voice trails of into a series of sobs again. You simply hug her tightly. “Shh Melody, I would never think that you are a slut. You are my best friend and I could never think of you so bad. This was not your fault, now let us just forget about that incident and have some breakfast together, ok?”
Instead of answering she simply hugs you back with all her power as if not wanting to let go and presses her head against your chest. After a few minutes like this she squirms out of your embrace and you reluctantly let her go.
“But everything I said was…” once again she breaks of and turns away from you.
Although it pierces your heart you decide that at the moment she is all that matters and so you voice another opinion, even though you secretly hope that the opposite is true.
“Melody, listen I highly doubt that you would want sleep with me when you are sober, so please just forget about it! I am not mad at you, if there is anyone to blame it is me I should not have let you get that drunk given the state of mind that you were in yesterday. Now please let’s just relax and enjoy the day ok?”
Quickly Melody turns towards you again, her eyes are still filled with tears but this time she is at least smiling, yet there is a hint something else in her eyes but you simply can not place it. Slowly she walks towards you and wraps her arms around you. Her voice is still shaking as she speaks again.
“Thank you, Jack. This is probably the first time that I am glad that a good looking guy does not want me sexually. But no wonder you go for real classy girls not for cheap dumb ones like me, I don’t think I deserve a good guy like you.”
You push her away slightly, so you can look into her eyes, tears are streaming down her face once again.
“Damn it Melody! You damn well don’t deserve a good guy!” Her eyes widen as you say that. “You deserve the best guy there is! Look at you!” You grab her shoulders and move her in front of the large mirror in your living room.
“You are beautiful, your emerald eyes make you look exotic, your face is nothing short of perfect. You have got the most wonderful silken hair I have seen in my day and you have got a stunning body, why the hell would any guy not want you?”
“But…”
“No you are intelligent, funny and a great friend! Please, Melody knowing all this tell me why would any guy not want you?”
She is silent for a few minutes then she turns to you.
“Thank you for trying to cheer me up but you never were a very good liar.”
“What do you mean by that?”
Looking into her eyes you can see a longing you have never seen there before, then you realize why she is looking at you like that.
“Wow there! You are not thinking about yesterday again are you?”
“You did not want me…”
“But Melody, I did not want to hurt you or ruin our friendship…”
“…”
“Do you remember what I said?”
Melody looks up, as if she was trying to remember what you said. Then, after a few moments, she lets out a gasp. Once again her expression changes and once again you are unable to read her features. Slowly she inches towards you, until her face is directly in front of you. You don’t dare to breathe and her breathing has become short and quick. As her eyes close, so do yours and then you can feel her soft, wet lips pressing against yours. At first you don’t know how to react, then your right arm moves around her waist and you pull her body closer to you as your left hand moves to the back of her head, running through her silken hair. This seems to be all the encouragement she needs as she wraps her arms around your body and her lips open to you. Slowly at first and then with fierce passion your tongues start dancing in each others mouths as you caress each others body with your hands.
After what seems an eternity she breaks the kiss. Looking deeply into her eyes you can see that they shine more than any other time you have ever seen, yet now there are tears streaming down her cheeks. As your right hand moves up to wipe them away she smiles at you.
“Thank you, I am not sad, these were tears of happiness.”
“I hope so, Melody. So I take it that yesterday was not just drunk ranting?”
“Not at all!” She gives you another quick kiss on the lips.
“I was so heartbroken when you dismissed it as drunken ranting, but you were right of course it would not have been a good start for something I have wanted this subconsciously for quite some time.”
Leaning her head on your bare chest once more she continues.
“Everything you did yesterday, the way you brought me home and held me when I could not be alone the way you stroked my hair and comforted me, everything just made me fall for you even more. But then when you acted as if nothing happened I could not believe it, you managed to almost break my heart and save it again in a few minutes.”
Looking into your eyes she whispers.
“Please promise me that you won’t toy with my feelings anymore.”
“Melody, I would do anything to make you happy.”
Then you two kiss once again, even more passionate than before, her fingernails claw at your back, almost breaking the skin, but this only turns you on more, so you pick her up without breaking the kiss and carry her back to her bed. You fall onto the bed, bodies entwined, as your hands move under her shirt and as you break the kiss for a few seconds take the turtle neck of. Seeing Melody sitting on your lap, only clothed in bra and jeans, her lips red from all your kisses her face flushed and her red hair messed like this makes your dick rise into a massive erection almost instantly.
“I take it you like what you see?” She asks teasingly.
“You are beautiful, Melody.” Is all you care to answer before pulling her down for another kiss.
How do you two continue?
