A gamble

Catherine smiled as she watched the justice demon vanish and then turned toward Buffy.

"Now where were we?" she asked. "Oh, wait. I was just about to kill you."

"Well, I suppose you might as well kill her," said future Amy. "At least that will release her from the curse that she has."

"Amy!" cried Willow.

"Yeah, Amy!" cried Buffy. "What the hell!"

Catherine turned toward future Amy and asked, "You trying to suck up to me, daughter of mine? Because brownnosing me is not likely to save you."

"I don't expect it to," said future Amy. "But then I'm not the one afflicted with a nudity curse. Buffy is."

"So Buffy is the victim of a nudity curse?" asked Catherine. "What's it to me?"

"Nothing most likely," said future Amy. "After all, it was placed on her by a vengeance -- er -- justice demon so there's no way you could do anything about it."

"Who says I can't?" asked Catherine.

She turned toward Buffy and said, "Come over here, Slayer."

"Really?" asked Buffy. "Right now?"

"Yes, let's do this thing," said Catherine.

"Well, you're not really my type," said Buffy.

"I don't mean that," said Catherine. "Now stop wasting my time and walk over toward me."

"But I'm naked," said Buffy.

"So?" asked Catherine.

"Oh, all right," said Buffy.

She reluctantly walked over to where Catherine stood, covering her naked breasts and her naked pubes all the way.

When she got to the library check-out counter that was located near where Catherine Madison was standing, Catherine looked at her and said, "Hands at your side. If I'm going to do this thing, I don't want you covering."

"Seriously?" asked Buffy. "Can't you cut me a break?"

"Hey, the spell I'm preparing to cast won't work if you're too modest, Buffy," said Catherine. "Besides, your hands aren't large enough to cover every body part you wish to conceal right now. So you might as well do as I say."

Buffy stood behind Catherine who walked out behind the library check-out counter and looked Buffy in the eye.

Then she started chanting and waving her hands. And then Buffy felt herself being infused with a strange glowing sensation that felt better than anything she had ever felt. And then the sensation vanished.

"Did it work?" asked Buffy.

Catherine just smiled. "Hey, redheaded girl. Give the Slayer your sweater."

"My name's Willow," said Willow.

"Whatever, redheaded girl," said Catherine. "Just do it."

Willow reluctantly took off her sweater, grateful that she had a blouse on underneath, and handed it to Buffy.

Buffy immediately put on the sweater and said, "Oh my God! I can wear it without pain. The curse is over."

"Now where were we?" asked Catherine.

"Would be a shame to kill all these nice witnesses to your triumph over a justice demon," said future Amy.

"Oh, you be quiet, child," said Catherine. "Just for that you're going to be the last to die."

"Before you do anything else, Ms. Madison," said Giles, "I do feel that is my duty to remind you about one thing about vengeance demons that you should be well aware of."

"Giles!" cried Buffy. "She's talking about killing us. Don't help her."

"I'm not helping her," said Giles. "I'm reminding her."

"Oh, please, English guy," said Catherine. "I've forgotten more about vengeance demons than you'll ever know. What could you possibly have to tell me?"

Just then Halfrek returned in a cloud of sulfurous smoke along with a black-haired woman who looked suspiciously like Amy Madison. This Amy wore a black dress and did not even try to smile when she saw the other two Amys in the library.

"Guess what?" asked Halfrek. "I'm back. And guess who I brought with me? Catherine Madison, meet the newest Justice Demon on another timeline, Justice Demon Amy Madison!"

"Hi, Mom!" exclaimed Justice Demon Amy. "It's going to be a real pleasure dealing with you after all these years!"
