A futuristic world

Your feet touch down onto a hard surface but the brightness from the portal travel blinds you for several moments until your eyes can recover. As the dazzle fades from your eyes, you see you're on the sidewalk of a main road which is bustling with people. However, the fashion of the people walking around you catches your eyes as everyone is wearing white or very light coloured bodysuits which hug their bodies tightly. In comparison, your 21st century lab clothes look positively frumpy in comparison.

But the clothing choices aside, you are more dazzled by the fleet of flying vehicles which whiz overhead. Oval shaped pods which are transparent from midway up fly around in an orderly fashion, some occasionally descending to the road to pick up the citizenry before rejoining the orderly queues without pause. Tom grabs your hand and forces you to start walking forward.

"I know this is new but you need to stop gawking. We stand out enough as it is," he whispers as he guides you towards a nearby building.

As you are pulled into the establishment, you see a front desk which is illuminated with bright lights. This society clearly has thing against shadows and dark coloured things as everything just feels dazzling to your eyes. Behind the desk is a neon sign which reads "YuNu Depository".

"Membership?" a bored looking clerk points at the terminal in front of her.

Tom presses his hand print to it and it brings up a membership number which is platinum coloured.

The clerk's eyes perk up and she immediately stands up from her chair.

"Right this way sir," she gestures towards a nearby door which opens up and a burly man in a suit steps out, "Glen here will take you and your companion to your fitting room."

The two of you are led down the white corridor, each of the rooms are seemingly named after birds as you see the names 'pigeon', 'lark', and 'myna' as you pass them. Eventually, you are led to the 'eagle' room which opens into a large luxurious space which has plush carpet and appears to be a large walk-in wardrobe.

"The room has been configured for your account sir," Glen speaks in a booming voice, "If you have any questions, I'll be outside but you can also use the side exit once you are finished." He closes the door behind you.

Tom walks into the room and opens up the full walled wardrobe on the opposite side of the room. Inside you see an entire row of empty skins just waiting to be worn. The skins are diverse but look to be separated into categories such as gender and race. He presses a button and the current row whizzes away like a conveyor belt and is replaced by another row of skins.

"... how is that happening?" you ask as the rows of skins seem to appear from thin air.

"Magic babe," he jokes, "Well, it's future tech you haven't seen before. I deposit skins with this place, they store them digitally and recreate them at whatever branch I walk into. Same with clothes and personal effects." He browses through the row and picks out the skin of a brunette female for you.

You look at the skin and gasp when you recognise the deflated face.
