Chapter 7 by Verdant_Hatchling Verdant_Hatchling

What next?

A few subsequent engagements?

As Derek was slowly led through the expansive interior of the gargantuan tree of the elven kingdom, as a whole, he was brought before a wooden throne, in the middle of an absurdly sized chamber, leaving him in front of an entire elven council, far larger, though truly less important, over a thousand elves were gathered, awaiting the word of the woman who’d suddenly reappeared on the throne.

This woman, Lyrana Verdantleaf Evergreen, raised a single hand, and the slight murmuring apparating through the chamber instantly fell to complete silence, as she spoke aloud, her voice bounding throughout, “Dear, Derek Greaten Dragonsbane, chosen hero of another world…As reigning Queen of Erde’Elrenais, I am fully in agreeance with the Tribunal Leader, for what will come to pass, YOU, Derek Greaten Dragonsbane, shall join the Royal family, explicitly as an external prince, regardless of the status of your betrothed, though that may change, should truly you prove yourself. And with that, I…”

And, in the midst of the elven Queen’s words, she was suddenly interrupted, by one of the only people who could do as such, as the aforementioned Tribunal Leader spoke a solemn sentence, “I, with the authority of the leader of the Tribunal, shall add another betrothed. That being myself…”

As these words left her mouth, the entire chamber broke into raucous deliberation, before the Queen raised her hand once more, followed by another immediate bout of silence, as she slowly asked, “Do you intend for the next Queen of Erde’Elrenais to be a mere concubine?”

This merely brought a chuckle to Celin’s mouth, as she haughtily retorted words that the crowd could hardly accept their strongest member speaking aloud, “No, dear Queen… If so necessary, I shall be the concubine, but in truth, would multiple wives not be in the Heroes path eventually? And in that manner, you’ll finally have a slight hair against me, being my future equal’s mother. Doesn’t that entice you?”

As she spoke those nearly rude words, which the Queen couldn’t even disprove, a smile of her own popped onto her face, “Yes, it truly does…” And then, a haughty chuckle, as the beautiful elven women suddenly stared at Derek, leaving him confused, and utterly lost. The Queen, happy with the results of the grand meeting shouted her acquiescence, “In one week’s time, the new Hero shall be wed to not only my first daughter, Lyrielle Verdantleaf Evergreen, but to the Tribunal Leader herself, Celin’Drasi Selesi Aetherscreech. I shall then await to truly welcome you to the family, Sir Derek, The Dragonsbane!” After enunciating the last bit, she disappeared from the spot, taking her daughter with her as well, before the thousands of elves dispersed on their own.

This left a widely smiling Celin, as she grabbed ahold of his arm, before simply appearing in another chamber with him in tow, finding the Tabaxi duo waiting for him to appear, as Celin informed them of the happenings, leaving them shocked before they said their goodbyes, “Dear Derek, always remember, you’ll always be welcome at our home…” As Eleera said this solemnly, Lena of Shade, an almost exact replica of the beautiful black furred Tabaxi, only smaller, leapt into a hug, saying goodbye, before Celin aided in their departure, as after a single flash of blue, the pair disappeared from sight.

This left Derek and Celin all alone, as the elven beauty walked up to him, grabbed his arm, and again, in flash of blue, the pair appeared within another section of the unbelievably large tree, though larger than even the Queen’s throne room, and completely bare of life, save for a few servant elementals, and the two, themselves.

“Sir Derek, how does it feel to be an elven prince? Well, pretty close, at least…” Celin asked in a slightly teasing manner, as she poked his side, before they abruptly appeared on another throne’s stoop, though now there were two, right beside each other, as she led him by the hand to one of them, nearly identical to the ones in their earlier escapades in the white room.

"What're you thinking, dear?"
