A fantasy rpg

As soon as his sister said that, K-T was immersed in some sort of epic trailer for what looked like an awesome fantasy rpg game, knights in shining armor fighting dragons, mages casting spells devastating entire mobs of goblins, deft archers killing massive monsters with a single shot in the eye.

Then in big golden letters.

After that he found himself in a dark room with a faint blue glow emanating from a floor he couldn't see despite standing on it. He could feel his foots resting on a hard surface, but it only looked like he was floating in an infinite dark abyss.

"Hello and welcome to the character selection of Kingdoms of magic: War of Legends, do you want to use a preset character, your default avatar or create a custom character?" The voice was coming from a white ceramic mask floating in the air. It had appeared out of nowhere.

K-T wasn't really sure, being able to play as yourself in a video game was a real breakthrough, but he wanted to see what options this game offered.

"Show me character customization." he replied to the mask.

"Function not available in the Beta build 0.35, please select another option."

"Fuck, that's right. The game isn't finished yet. Show me the preset characters then."

A series of characters appeared in front of him. None had anything linked to a class, wearing only a simple tunic coming to mid thighs in a random assortment of primary colors. K-T could browse through them simply by swiping in the air with his hand. The characters looked as real as his own avatar and there were huge variations in build, faces, body types, hair colors etc.

With only a single troubling detail. K-T had swiped through nearly a hundred preset characters and had come back to the first one. All of them were girls. From muscular amazons talked than him, flat chested petite girls, curvy girls with humongous tits. Not a single male avatar in sight. Thinking about it, this game had probably been completely developed by the female friend of his sister and her probably also a girl too assistant. They might have focused on making the game functional and had not modeled male avatars yet.

K-T had had issues before being mistaken as girl because of his name or **** to crossdress after losing his clothes or mix ups with luggage or laundry. He really didn't fancy going through this experience that would probably be awesome with that kind of thing going on.

"Use my default avatar."

"Default avatar selected. Please pick your class."

Three wooden mannequins appeared in front of him. He guessed that the limited choice was because of the unfinished status of the game yet again.

The first one was holding a shield and a sword, a red tabard with a golden shield crossed by a sword was draped over it. It was just a long wide strip of fabric with a hole for the head that knights often wore over their armor. It was obviously some sort of warrior or knight class.

The second one held a long staff with a crystal at the end and had some sort of dark blue cloak on it, like an open bathrobe with a hood on it. Clearly a spellcaster class of some sort.

The third one had a bow, a quiver, a long dagger and was wearing a dark green leather sleeveless vest. This was the archer, rogue or general agility based class he saw in the trailer.

Now it was a hard choice. He always liked the hack and slash bit, being in the thick of the action. On the other hand, even if what he saw was probably eng game stuff, the magic looked totally OP. And then, being a sneaky archer was always a good safe method to explore an unknown game.

He thought about it for a while and finally made his choice.
