A familiar face.

As you limp after the Chancellor, he leads you on a labyrinthine route through the Palace (part of you suspects he's deliberately taking a circuitous route, so as to impress upon you Sinnabarrovian opulence), a familiar face crosses your path, the Chancellor practically barrelling into her as he regales you with anecdotes from his and Chancellors past's careers.

"Princess Kara, a thousand pleas of forgiveness!" the foppish minister exclaims.

"Ah, it's alright." Kara shrugs. "I've had worse altercations before, you know?"

"Quite, quite." the Chancellor responds.

"Kara!" You exclaim. "Princess." you catch yourself.

"I had no idea you were in Sinnabarrow." You finally tell her.

"Nor I you, Your Majesty." Kara responds. The princess looks well. You're somewhat surprised to see that she's swapped out her martial furs and leathers for a more traditionally feminine mode of dress.

You tell your entourage you require five minutes alone with Kara, ducking aside with her and finding a more private location. Or as private as you can imagine in a foreign kingdom's Palace.

"It's good to see you, Kara." You say warmly. "What brings you to Copieux?"

"War, I'm afraid. The 'Barrovians have got one of the continent's fattest treasuries, but they can barely keep themselves safe from Morland. An' here we are, alright in a scrap but strapped for cash. quite a match, aye?" Kara explains.

"Well, Sinnabarrow are clearly paying for the best." You tell her.

"Aye, you're not wrong. Donald and Jana are here too." Kara says. "With a bit of luck, when we return to the border, we should be able ta dissuade the Morlandians without too much bloodshed."

"Ah, and h-how is Donald?" you slur. Your scheme with the Spirit still weighs on you somewhat.

"He's almost been acting like a grown man of late." Kara says frankly. "It's a little disquieting."

"To tell the truth, I should get back to him. He's having dinner with Mad Madeleine tonight. I'll haveta be on hand to prevent a diplomatic incident."

As the princess makes to leave, you catch her by the hand.

"Can I see you again, after?" You ask. The redhead smiles.

"Aye, that'd be nice." Kara nods, before departing.
