Why?

A dream ?

Chapter 2 by lvup

You know it's a fantasy. Sexy groupies visiting your dressing room after a night concert with only one thing on her mind, is one of your recurring dreams. But something is different. Your name is Chris, and very few would think you're a sane person if they heard you tell this tale.

You grew up happy. Mom, Dad, Older sister. You couldn't really have asked or hoped for more in life. But you did, because behind all the perfection the cracks were obvious.

Dad was always a bit disappointed. He never openly said anything negative, he was always supportive and encouraging whatever your interests were. But you knew you were less than he had hoped for. You were never the sporty large athlete type he was. Genetics tricked you hard.

Your body type was always on the shorter skinnier side. No matter how much milk you drank or meat filled dinners you ate, your body stayed the same. Exercising was even making it worse, because you simply didn't gained muscle mass.

Your voice lacked any hint of bass, and it have a calming soft tone to it. People often stared at you when you spoke to them. This annoyed you because it was like they weren't even paying attention, just staring blankly off while you spoke. Most of your peers were quick to point out that you sounded girly. This annoyed you, especially since this was one of the biggest reasons you got picked on quite a bit, by both girls and boys.

Not all was bad. You have your share of friends growing up, but they always tended to be the nerdy outcast types... like you. Picked on just because they didn't fit in to the accepted norms.

Around middle school you thought things would change. Moving to to a new school, making new friends, a chance to transform your life into something new. Unfortunately half of the classmates from your elementary school came to this new school as well, and with them, your reputation as someone to be picked on. Still, you did make some new friends who had attended other elementary schools, and a couple friends from elementary school remained in your life as well. It was here that you discovered your love and passion for music.

But interest is not enough to graduate, across the board you were failing fast. And your parents aren't the forgiving type. So a solution was found. It started with a lack of interest in extra credits on sports, mixed with a burning desire to meet girls. This piqued your curiosity, and you decided to tag along. On the first day your teacher was so impressed with how good of a treble you were. She went on and on about how unique your voice was, and with some training you could become a fantastic singer. Hearing praise for something other than simple schoolwork assignments was something that you weren't accustom to.
