A daring chase

Karai scaled off of the Louvre's roof, down the wall and onto the open streets. While Paris had its own nightlife, it was much quieter than New York's and there were precious few crowds for her to escape into.

The kunoichi did a backflip as Ryuko landed right where she would have been standing.

"Quit now before I get serious," said Ryuko.

"This is the part where I say the same thing back at you."

Karai unsheathed the sword she had stolen. The blade was as flawless as the day it was forged, a testament to its maker's skill to be sure. Instead of attacking with the sword, she threw the sheath it was in at the hero. Ryuko winced a little when her reflexes kicked in and cut the priceless sheath in half, but by then Karai had fled into the nearest manhole, Ryuko in close pursuit.
